There is another way to figure out which LTE network a phone is parked on, but it involves going in to the escreens--which not everyone is comfortable with, nor is it recommended for everyone.

Just out of curiosity, what city are you in? Wherever it is, you must be in an area where T-Mobile is using LTE in Band 4 I assume and is not in a 'refarmed' area that utilizes Band 2 for LTE; T-Mobile is in the midst of moving over 2G to full LTE using Band 2 to achieve it. This is why some areas your STA100-5 will work fine on T-Mobile and get LTE connectivity, while other LTE areas T-Mobile serves you will not receive it.
Between Akron Ohio to Cleveland I never lost LTE,possible Iam in area that supports Band 2. I never had issue with my service always been rock solid.

Hey thanks for the info! I have yet to see anyone else comment about that area using an STA100-5, so I have a funny feeling it would be T-Mobile's Band 4 you are running on in that area; the STA100-5 does not support LTE on Band 2. There was another thread a while back that was keeping track of such cities but subsequently stopped being updated.
Yes I've took noticed, that thread went dead, your welcome :)

I'm in NYC, I'm wondering if there is anyone else in NYC area or Long Island who owns a Z30 and is on T-Mobile, using an STA100-5. Do you get 4GLTE?
I spoke to T-Mobile today and they did not recommend the Z30. They are currently using LTE bands 1, 2, 4 and 12. Out of those, the Z30 only supports LTE band 4, so I'm beginning to lean a bit more to possibly the Leap although I really want the Z30. So I want to know other New Yorkers' experience with the Z30 on T-Mobile. Any of you out there? Do you get 4GLTE?

What area of the US Are you located at. I'm in the NYC area. I'm concerned that I won't get LTE here.

I think in NYC you will find that T-Mobile is using LTE band 4 almost exclusively. Once you leave the city, you will find LTE band 2 in many areas.
Well, I took a gamble and ordered my Z30 from Shop BlackBerry. I found it odd that they don't give you an expected date of arrival. I'm still concerned about getting 4GLTE. I hope it doesn't disappoint. Thank you all for your advice! Ill.keep you all posted!

Well if anyone is still on here. I got my Z30 after only 3 days. Shop BlackBerry did a good job despite some of the negative comments but mostly I wanted to say that my Z30 has full 4GLTE and I am one happy Camper! This phone is amazing! And it's even more amazing running on 10.3.1! Thank you all for all your good advice! I appreciate it!

Thanks for the update! You certainly have helped add to the knowledge base of what cities you'll get LTE on the STA100-5 on TMO. Looks like we can add NYC to that list! Thanks again!

Awesome. Bought my Z30 the same way. My only regret is that T-Mobile won't let me use wifi calling. This unit and T-Mobile's performance is wonderful.
