I was sent a proposal in 2 different Word Docs that were created in a 2003 version of Word.

My Z10 prompts me, that it cannot open this type of file.

Is there a way around this?

I emailed them to my husband, to have him reformat the Docs in a newer Word version, and send them back to me. Will doing this work?

I'm at work and need to see these docs and go over them tonight.

How exactly can this be rectified?

    Thanks

What OS are you running there?

Well I only have Word 2010 here, but I created a document and saved both doc (97-2003) and docx (2010) versions and the Z10 managed to open them without issue.

But you got the right idea, your hubs should be able to save the file with a more current version of Word and send it back to you.

That's an odd one. I just tested this on my Z10. I have both .doc and .docx Word documents. Both file types open, and both can be "Save As" the alternate format. All I can assume is that there was special formatting in the .doc that was preventing it from being viewed on the Z.

I use "File Converter" (PlayBook App) that also works on the z for converting these type of files.

Awesome! That was my next question. Is there a file converter app?

I'm running the latest version just released via TMobile.

I was shocked when it couldn't open the files.
