    Hi Crackberry Nation!

I'm currently a proud owner of a Z10 that I purchased in the US (Verizon) in 2013 as soon as it became available. I knew my company was transitioning to iPhones a month before I purchased but I bought it anyway and have been on my company's BYOD pilot program. I love the phone, love the OS. Since March of 2013, this phone has traveled with me to Hong Kong, China, Japan, and Germany and has never let me down.

So...my contract is up in less than 2 months and I'm trying to decide what to get. My wife has a Samsung S4 and I love the screen size. Here are what I consider my options to be:

    1) I could go with Z30 since I've heard awesome things about it, but I worry about the technology being slightly out of date. That said, I still don't think I'd make a bad choice going this route.

    2) I could wait for the Passport to be released from Verizon. I'm not sure if I buy one that is unlocked, if it will work on Verizon's network. And it would be quite costly.

    3) I could wait for The Mobile World Congress to see if there are any new phones announced and wait until it's available to me.

    4) I could just sit with my Z10 and keep rocking it...

    Any thoughts, opinions, or suggestions?

If you like the touch keyboard , the Z30 is the king, it's amazing how good the keyboard is, and if you like a physical KB get the passport.

I've already advised someone to do #4. The justification being, if what you have is working for you and you want to continue to stay with the same OS but are not happy with the current options for replacement, it doesn't hurt to wait and see if a phone is released that you like.

Just because your contract is up doesn't mean you have to get a new phone immediately. I've done this before and then discovered if I'd waited a month, I could have gotten something better.

Thanks to you both. I suppose I could also find a cheap z30 on ebay or something like that and save my upgrade for something newer if it comes along.

Here's what I did, I bought the Z30 and regretted not buying it sooner. If it's affordable for you, then buy the Z30 and save your upgrade. Soon we'll be blessed with an official 10.3.1 update and it'll be a whole new experience. If it's not affordable, then hold on to your Z10 and await the official update. Enjoy that for a while then see what new BlackBerry phones come out. This is what I plan to do. Although I wouldn't upgrade but buy the next flagship full touch outright.

If you like BB10 and touch screens I'd go for the Z30. It's much better than the Z10 and you can get it quite cheaply.

I bought my 10 the same time as you but I upgraded to the Z30 a year early. I paid a $120 penalty and got the phone on contract for 0$ on special. I don't regret it for a second. Don't forget about the advantages of the 30 over the 10. Larger screen, larger on screen keyboard makes it easier to type, amazing battery compared to the Z10. Miracast and FM radio are terrific. Its truly an awesome product. I hope you get to enjoy it. It's worth it for the battery alone. It ran circles around my wife's iPhone 4S. Its still better than her 6.

Why do you have to do anything? If the phone is working just keep using it.

Wow..looks like I'm going to be exploring the Z30. I knew it had to be better than my Z10 but didn't know just how much. I really don't have to do anything right now, but was just looking at options. Looks like I came to the write place.

I would keep the z10 until the z30 goes on sale. Yes the z 30 is better (I own and use both, using z30 to type this now), but the z10 works great. And with the z10 paid for, you can lower your monthly carrier fees.

I would keep rocking the z10. Wait and see what they come out with next. If nothing and you like the 5" screen grab a z30.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm gonna try to find a cheap Z30. Trick is, where to look. EBay has some. Amazon has some.

Anyone know where to look? I'd even do a refurbished one at this point.

I would just watch shopblackberry.com and grab one the next time it goes on sale for under $300.

    This.^

My dad came from a Nokia flip, now he's rocking a Z30 with genuine flip case and a very recent 10.3.1 leak/build. He's over 60, first smart phone.

See, I'm on a Passport, but still on official...

They were sold out last time I checked a few days ago. Z30 still available from shopcrackberry? Looks like Amazon or ebay is only way to go. I would have bought it but it won't be optimized for my AT&T in the US. Also the 10.3 on my Z10 is like having a new phone.

I would say #3 and if nothing sparks your interest #4 until the fall as some more phones may be released by then.

I have a z10 myself due in October
