Have you tried backing up just your contacts and doing a device wipe? Then restore your contacts and see if the device is fine? Then install your apps one by one and see if maybe one of your apps may have been the problem?

Did a device wipe but didn't help. Thanks though.

Maybe AT&T beefed up its LTE in your area recently. Anyway, try turning off data services and using Wifi whenever possible.

You should not be heating up though, even with LTE on all the time. Probably a cruddy droid port.

No changes in LTE here. No more problems either as I sold the Z10.

Candy Crush has been KILLING my battery! I did a test today to verify. While monitoring the battery I opened five native apps. The battery was pulling 0.8 watts. After starting CC and playing for a few minutes, the battery was getting drained by 2.5 watts!

The only time my 9900 got as hot as the Z10 would get was when I had it on the dashboard on charge running Telmap navigation, wifi hotspot to give internet to an iphone and bridged to the PlayBook on a longer car journey.

True, but it didn't have the screen or processing power of the Z10. I guess that does show an advantage though.

Great. However, we aren't talking about the 9900.

Anyway, back to the actual topic of the thread, the Z10, I solved my issue. My sim card had gone bad. Got a new one and everything is back to normal.

I am returning my Z10 back to BlackBerry here are some reasons that Z10 has to go back:

    1) Over Heating during BBM (Group chat) / WhatsApp / FB / BB App world / Web browsing on Stock browser

    2) Battery very quick drain specially during browsing on a stock browser and overheating (NET: 3G /H+) 3) Rapid Battery Discharge needs Multiple charging During the Day (Unsustainable Battery Backup)

    4) Twitter New tweets not pushing

    5) Rapid Resets over 5 times at a single stretch with high over heating specially during travelling and roaming. Battery Removed from the device and after cooling the battery directly falls to 10% and low battery alert and Device switches off.

    6) Very Sluggish performance specially switching between apps and opening apps

    7) Battery does not charge beyond 87% (Temporary Solution Unplug Charger wait till the drain to 60% and Plug in the charge to obtain 100% charging.

Plus the never ending bugs, BlackBerry you made the worst OS and worst phone ever.

Sorry to hear that. Are you on version 10.0 or the newer updated 10.1 OS version? For many of us, a lot of those initial issues got resolved with a software update. If you are still on version 10.0 and your carrier has not released a 10.1 update as yet you can download and install a leak.

Here is a link to a thread with some good information, including step-by-step instructions for downloading and installing a leak. Look at post #8 and post #9

    I hope that this helps.

Leaked OS 10.1.0.2354 for the BlackBerry Z10 (STL100-1)

But it doesn't overheat on WIFI.
I had that problem. If you've any sideloaded or downloaded any Android apps over BlackBerry World then it's one of them that's helping themselves through your cellular data. If you can monitor how much is used and you'll probably get a shock like I did. 700mb of mine got used over the course of 2 dats which left me with 300mb for 3 weeks.

I keep close tabs on data usage and I never had a spike. I usually never go over 500mb because I'm on wifi a lot.

I'm back to Android now but I do hope they work out these issues. It's a new OS and it will have some bumps. I would like to see them succeed.
