Just in the last day or so my Z10 is getting super hot and the battery is dying in just a few hours. Anyone else having this problem?

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

    Thanks

IS it new? Less then a week old?

Reboot and check the last apps you installed. Could be an Android app causing it.

I did update to 10.1 with T mobile the other day. I don't have any Android apps on phone. Strictly stock

Turn the phone off. Once it is completely off take the battery out of the phone for a few seconds. Put the battery back in and boot it up. Not saying this will help but it might.

You mean that you had it before you updated to 10.1?

Same here. It just started happening a little over a week ago and mostly when I am on the network in a weak signal area. Funny because I had no problems before that. I have done reboots, wiped the phone completely, and even loaded a new OS but nothing has helped. I'm back to Android (SGS3).

It's almost certainly bad hardware. My first Z10 got hot and crashed at least once a day. The replacement, which I use exactly the same way, stays cool and hasn't crashed yet.

But it doesn't overheat on WIFI.

If it doesn't do it on wifi, sounds like a coverage issue. Try getting a new sim card in case the one you had went bad and is having issues communicating with the network making the cell radio work harder than it should.

Ya I do have the similar problem exactly the same but with a twist phone restarts for about 5 to 6 times battery gets too damn hot very hot then the battery level drops to 10% and the phone just switches off, and no solution available happens specially when you are roaming.

The SIM worked fine in my SGS2, that's the thing. It's a big problem at work as I am there so much and need to be connected. I have since gotten a SGS3 and am happy as a clam.

It could be a issue with that particular battery that you are using. Have you tried using another battery?

In my instance, yes. I have the battery charger bundle and switch batteries quite often, or I should say, used to.

It's sad really. I've been a huge Blackberry fan for quite a while now, and taken flack for it. They needed to hit a home run with BB10 and it has had too many issues. They need to fix them quickly or people will be scared away. We need multiple platforms to drive innovation and give people choice. This was supposed to catch them up but it hasn't quite yet.

Go to app world and update all your apps. This happened to me and that is how I fixed it. If you search you will find my post about it.

I had the same problem for a few days, all I can think of that I changed was an app I updated and then the problem was solved I'd say it's quite likely an app is causing it, if you reboot and don't open anything does it still get hot?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am also upset that BlackBerry can't be my only phone. I want it to be but every week it is something else. I would have been screwed if I didn't have my iPhone yesterday

Have you had the phone exchange through your carrier? This does not sound like it is going away. Might be a lemon.
