This is a notice I just received from Bank of America. This is just one of a few apps that are abandoning my Z10. What's going on with BlackBerry?

    Hello,
I don't think it's just the Z10 . I read somewhere that the are going to abandon BlackBerry completely for the time being until BlackBerry gains some more market share again.

What does this directly have to do with the Z10?

This is directed at the whole platform

I am using an Android port for a Maybank2u app in Malaysia as no native app for BlackBerry . Have no issue. There is so many options, ie via a tablet and use a web browser, it is up to everyone to choose.

I like that, I may have to find another bank who is BlackBerry friendly.

You might want to switch to a healthier bank. Bank of America has a lot of issues that run far deeper than its app.

Some institutions are going browser instead of apps. That could be all it is.

Can you just use the Android version? I use one for my bank and it's fine. The fact that you had direct BofA on BB was amazing to begin with.
Also, I find the browser on BB10 to be very fast, so if they have a web version, just use that.

However I find the logic of "leaving BB until they get more markets share" to be an odd approach, as the fact that they're leaving will only contribute to potentially more shrinking of market share. That's like saying "We're all leaving this party and only coming back when more people are here".

Mobile browser version works nicely. Put a shortcut to that on your home screen and you're good.

Could be worse. The windows phone is not eligible for the Web app either.

Download the Android app. That is what Chen told the developers to do.

To be honest, it never really made any sense to me why someone or some company would ever invest in having a mobile app for every OS on the market.
Why not just offer a mobile friendly website that is compatible with every device and not as prone to bugs, fixes and constant updates.
It's hard to even tell now what's an app and what's a website when setup correctly.

apps provide some features that the websites cant do. Web compatibility is getting better but being able to say do mobile check deposit with the camera is a feature that an app does easily but not all browsers will work doing this.

App is not available with amazon. Is available with 1mobile.com. Several apps not available native or with amazon can be found through 1mobile.com. Site has been professionally reviewed and verified legit.

Do you understand Chen told the developers of the world to develop in Android for BlackBerry 10 and submit to Amazon's app store? This isn't some nefarious Apple cabal, this is development houses doing what BlackBerry said they should do in stop developing BB10 native, and they may or may not do the Amazon part because that app store is so pathetic.

They are bribed by their pocketbook. Apps requires support, the user bases does not support the cost then they end it.
Counter it by getting your fellow non BB users to be a BB users and it will change.
