Well I bought both the q10 and z10, and I have purty much made up my mind to make the z10 my device and sell the q10 . But this battery life issue is really making me mad
Now I realize no one Is going to be able to tell some magic setting that will fix it I'm just venting. I unplugged from the charger this morning at 6:00am as I type this it is 8:30 am and my battery is already down to 43%
I watched one news video that lasted 4 minutes, checked a few emails, looked at gas buddy, texted to my wife about 7times and now writing this. I just checked my battery again and it's now at 40%. Last night I was playing with my q10 watched a bunch of videos checked for any app up dates basically just wasting time for about 2 hours and the battery was at 87% after all that time , had a stressful week and this was my way of winding down. Any way so I go and get my z10 fresh off the charger and basically do the same thing but after about 15-20 minutes the z10 battery was already down to 80%
Just frustrated as I really like my black berry's

You're not alone my friend, battery life is my number one gripe with BlackBerry. I considered getting a Z30 even tho I'm not too much of a 5"+ screen fan because the battery is apparently good.

I hate this Z10 battery life I'm already at 87% within an hour of actual light use.

I hear you on the big screen size, I'm not a fan of supper sized phones either. But this morning I was browsing ebay for a z30 because of the battery life on them.

Same thing here with my z10. I leave the house at 8 and by 1pm, my phone will be down to 15%.
I would shop for a Z30 but I don't like the fact that the battery can't be removed.
Due to the lack of battery life, I've been considering android phones. But I will hold out on that thought until I see what BlackBerrys next moves are.

I thought the same about removal but after 4 months I love the phone and have not thought once about removal of battery.

Only solution is to get the battery bundle. It's a shame because I really liked the phone but I'm in love with the Z30 battery life.

I sure don't understand why BB cannot get a better battery for the z10 as I have seen many comments regarding this (a few exceptions though). Coming from a Torch the z10 size is appealing although the z30 is too but would kind of like the battery being removable - IMHO. I am just in a holding pattern for now and seeing what happens.

Battery life is the main reason I gave up on my Z10. My device would not last 8 hours (including standby) off the charger. I'd buy an extra battery or larger one if you can live with carrying it around. Z10 is a great device otherwise.

I also have fairly poor battery life, but the biggest saver was: ensuring PIM Services wasn't stuck in a loop, and turning off BlackBerry Link. Those two things have saved me more battery than I'd care to admit. I also ordered the 4500mAh battery but that's yet to arrive.

Note: where I live gets less than three bars of LTE and less than four of 3G

The battery life on the z10 is poor. Despite some people managing better than others. to survive happily with a z10 you need to get into the habit of charging whenever you can. Get in the car, plug in the car charger. Sit at your desk, plug in the charger. Go home, dock it. If you don't, or can't, then you'll be an unhappy owner. Charge charge charge.

You will not regret if you get Z30. I don't need to charge my phone more than one time any day since I got it. Even when I charge it it still have over 20 percent battery left.

You know what is best besides battery ? The screen which is so comfortable to me. No mention about speed.

Listen I live in New Orleans where LTE signal is good as soon as i travel to Hobbs, New Mexico, Gulf Shores Alabama or Midland TX where the LTE or 3g is 3 or less bars my phone battery dies two times faster i am guessing that the antenna sucks all the juice. I feel your pain but friends that travel with me they carry galaxy active and S5 they complain that the battery life on their phones shortens dramatically as well.

This has always been my only downfall with the Z10, and I've went back to it a few different times and I just couldn't handle the battery life. Everything else about the Z10 is great, except for the battery. My Q10 definitely doesn't let me down when it comes to battery life. I get a full day and then some, and that's with moderately heavy use...emails/text/calls/music/web/pictures..etc

Not a perfect solution - but i got my daughter one of these - and her phone lasts all day now.

    Extended 4500mAh LS1 LS 1 Battery Back Cover for Blackberry Z10 Z 10 BB10 US | eBay

She is very happy. And, iphone add those bulky mophie packs - so really this is no different. Agree with the others that you have to shut some stuff off - but it only help so much.

I used to carry an extra battery and charger with me when I had the Z10 just in case. I didn't have the problem you guys are. I could get through a day of moderate use. Now that I have the Z30 I don't even think about it. I could get three days if I wanted to. Wireless charging in also a plus. Just throwing that in there.

I suppose blackberry can find a way to upgrade the battery of the z10. Maybe come up with a new type of battery, same size as the current one yet as powerful as the z30. surely there's new technology on that area.

Definitely he was trolling considering our pathetic battery life with Z10.

PS: no, upgrading to Z30 is not a solution, there are many people who like one-handed size phones. Also Z30 has AMOLED screen - that means bye good battery life if you're web browsing a lot with the phone.
PS2: replacing the battery with bigger ones isn't either a solution for many, many don't want to transform their phones into portable bricks.

I don't know why Android manufacturers & Blackberry doesn't solve those battery life issues by OPTIMIZING THE SOFTWARE instead putting bigger and bigger batteries. Look at Apple, they optimize the battery life without using immense batteries. And oh dear, I wish I had my iPhone 5 battery life on my Z10! (1440 mAh vs 1800 mAh)
