Hello
Just a quick question. For those of you have stated that your quality has improved, how exactly are you viewing Youtube?
Meaning, are you going to youtube through the Native BB Browser or some other browser? Are you going straight to the Youtube.com site or the Mobile version of the site?
Are you using a dedicated program for youtube other then a browser?
I have the storm2 and want to test it out, but first wanted to find out exactly how you all are navigating over to youtube.
Any info would be greatly appeciated, thanks.
youtube will only work by visiting m dot youtube.com from your native browser. Bolt nor Opera Mini support YouTube videos.
Credits should go this member.... http://forums.crackberry.com/f141/yo...lution-361201/
Tip: Instead of emailing the optimization link to yourself, scroll down the youtube page and click HELP and under Q&A 12 or 13 there is an optimization link. ;)
Works great on the Storm. In fact, the video looks better than the Google You Tube app for the Storm. I may never need to use that app again.
I tried that youtube app out, and frankly hated it.

My video quality has dropped back to the poor version again. Guessing they are playing with some settings or something. Funny to think that everything is on youtube's side, but I'm not surprised.
I've got to agree. Videos on the mobile site far exceed videos in the youtube app for the 9550. Definitely deleting the app.
Will not let me on m.youtube.com with my bold *rim browser*.. I can get to it with Bolt but I used to be able to get to m.youtube.com on my bold and even my curve but not anymore for some reason...
Really Weird it was not working at all yesterday but now it is.. Freaking Weird Bold...
Cheers,
Charlie

I just watched this video YouTube - Nuts presents: Dan Hardy - What It Takes and the HQ quality is still top Notch.

Not true. Try the "Vision for YouTube" App. Been using it on my Storm 1 for a long time. FREEWARE
The video quality on my Tour Is still pretty poor even after the optimization.

We discussed that already, and it's a poor quality app. That was a discussion about browsers only.

did you click on HQ after the preview picture?

I didn't see a HQ option. Where is it located? Maybe I missed something or did something wrong then.
They don't all have HD offered, but if they do, here's where, and it's enabled in the screen shot:

I got it. It looks awesome.

Tried the optimization on my Curve 8330 with the 5.0.0.438 OS. The picture quality in the media player is exactly the same as my Xenozu, so I might as well just keep using that.
The original discussion was about the 9700, which isn't compatible.

does anyone know if it is possible to play youtube vids on an 8330?
