This is the ultimate #TBT for me. Haha

My very first was a Nokia 5190, I believe. Also the first to be stolen from me. Haha then a 3390. Then a Sony Ericsson T610. Then a RAZR. Then a W810i. After that I went with BlackBerry.

BlackBerry 8700r? (forgot the letter), then 8800, then Curve 8300, then 8820, then back to Curve 8310 then 8320. Btdubs that 8700r is in my closet somewhere. Also my first work BlackBerry was an 8700g.

Anyhow back to personal and onto the post OS 4.5 era... Then I got the BlackBerry Bold 9700--best purchase I had ever made at that time. Then I made the mistake of getting the Torch 9800. I actually sacked that 9800 and kept using my 9700 until it got jacked. That was the first BlackBerry ever stolen from me. That was in 2009?

AT&T loved me, being their loyal customer all these years, with my most recent account almost 6 years old (despite having got closed for 5 days) and being with them on an older account since Pac Bell was still becoming SBC and Cingular Wireless! Lol SO, still in my contract with the Torch, they offered me the ultimate deal. Without a contract renewal and with only finishing the then current contract, they let me get a Bold 9900 on contract. THAT was the best purchase I ever made (at that time lol). Until it got jacked by some actor at my old job. Ugh. Btdubs, AT&T replaced that one too, for free, because Asurion (insurance) kept sending me bull**** replacements. Haha

Then the Z10 came out. I liked it but I didn't love it. At first it was just the battery, so AT&T sent me a free backup battery pack. But then I was still not loving it. So, once again, AT&T offered me an out and let me buy a Q10. That was when they started the Next programme. It was cheap so I paid it off that same month to ditch them (long story short, I came back in five days lol) and, my Q10 is THE best purchase I have ever made in my life! It's so life changing and productive!

My first was an either 9520 or 9250 BlackBerry Nextel if I remember correctly; it had an antenna. I was hooked instantly.

OK, well thread title is "Your FIRST BlackBerry" - that for me was an 8330 Curve in 2008, and I actually *liked* the trackball, other than having to gently take it apart to clean pocket lint from it every few weeks!

Wasn't my first mobile though; that would have been an analog Mitsubishi, I think MT8 or MT9? Timeframe was... Mid-1990's; I remember being happy that it was "slim" and "light" enough that I could put it in my shirt pocket. Hah!

I'm always curious about what makes persons choose BB10 now that we're so uncool... if i may ask, what mobile did you have before and what made you jump ship. What made you choose BB10?

What phone I carry has never been about whether or not it was cool. Hell I still used a beat-up old Motorola RAZR flip phone long into when everyone else seemed to be carrying the first couple of iPhones. When the RAZR died I would just buy another one off craigslist and pop my SIM in it and carry on.

Once I got my first BB with the 8330, I was hooked; wished I'd made the jump years before. Around the time my 9800 was starting to feel tired I tried an iPhone 4S and had such a miserable time with it being unreliable as an actual phone, I went back to my 9800 until the Z10 was released. Watched videos of it here on CB, found one in an AT&T store to try out, and took the plunge into BB10. Glad I did.

Funny thing is I noticed right away some things it was lacking vs. BBOS, but if I take a moment to fire up my old 9800 just for grins, man I find that I don't even recognize it anymore. I also used to be a touch-screen keyboard hater, but trying to type on the 9800, which used to seem effortless, now seems strangely difficult?!

My first BlackBerry was a gold Curve 8320. It wasn't my first cell phone, I had one of those Nokia phone's with Snake. That things was CRACK! I was like 16 or 17 when I got my Curve and didn't look back. Had an array of Berrys since then.

My first Blackberry was a Pearl, which I hated and quickly exchanged for a 7290. Then an 8707v. Then I had 2 Curves with T-Mobile, which were great, and 1 Curve with Verizon which was less good because at the time, Verizon neutered Blackberries to sheer stupidity. That forced me to start the ever frustrating dance of IOS vs Android for a few years.
This year, I came back to Blackberry with a free Q10, from Verizon and jackpot! Finally, Verizon does it right: my Q10 is flawless, I love it. I am considering the Classic, though, because I miss the tool belt, but if for some reason I can't get it, I'm happy with the Q10.

    I came straight from BlackBerry OS 4.0, 4.2, 4.5, 5.0, 6.0, 7.1 to BB10.

My first "cellphone" was actually an Audiovox that was hard wired into my 88 Mustang GT

My first real handheld Blackberry was the 850, (yes I am truly old school...)I kept trying to call people but they wouldn't answer!!
