BlackBerry is still producing BlackBerry 10 handsets. This means they will still support it for at least two years, which is the length of an average phone contract in North America.

Moreover, BlackBerry announced that they are going to release the 10.3.3 update in March 2016.

Even if BlackBerry stops developing for BlackBerry 10 today, you still have a very functional phone that can still get the work done.

As for Android apps not working, all of the Android apps that I have are working perfectly. I am sure many Android apps will still be fine. You can choose not to update your Android app, so that it keeps on working.

So you can worry about switching an OS, or replacing your BlackBerry 10 device once or if BlackBerry stops developing for it, and your phone becomes no longer functional.

Why stay with a product that the company never put effort into under Chen, or give them more money? Other options available from companies improving their products and that know that customer service is an important aspect of business. Probably the best thing that could happen for BlackBerry's customers and people who like BB10 is abandoning the brand, hope for a quick collapse and sale of the patents and IP of BlackBerry to a competent company that may do something with them. Who cares about the investors, Chen or Prem? Send their subscriber numbers to zero, encourage BBOS users to bail and remove the BBOS BIS revenue, and hope the good stuff gets into the right hands, because it is in horrible hands now!

BlackBerry released the 10.3.2 update just a few months ago. They also announced the plans for 10.3.3 next year. How much do you want really?

Apple releases a yearly update for their OS, yet, you do not make any comments about that.

I'm not sure we know what 10.3.3 will entail. Also, Apple just released OS 9 and then a bug update shortly after. I just went back to using an iPhone so I don't know how often they update the OS, but they are leading the industry where BlackBerry is in dire trouble so it's hard to compare the two.

There is no evidence to suggest that 10.3 will have run time. No run time = why buy a new BB10 device. Yes , device will last two years. Why bother? BlackBerry should just go Android. The enterprise market has left BlackBerry.

And there is no evidence to suggest that it will not have the run time, so let's just zip our mouths and observe.

Yes, Apple is selling a lot more, but it is not unreasonable to compare their OS update intervals as they are both mobile phone OSes.

I was replying to the original comment saying that BlackBerry is not putting any effort into BlackBerry 10, which is clearly not true, as BlackBerry 10's OS update frequency match or exceed the frequency of the industry standard (Apple IOS).

Actually that is exactly the kind of "Doomsday" post I was mentioning.

I have been around long enough to know that people have been saying BlackBerry will go bankrupt for over 5 years.

I am not saying it will or will not happen, but until we know for sure, let's stop with the whole "BlackBerry is ending", "BlackBerry 10 is not going to be around" posts because it is getting very annoying.

Actually iOS get about 5-6 small updates a year. A new branch started every year. BB introduced the 10.3 branch 1 year ago and will still continue that branch with 10.3.3 in 6 months. Just wanted to get the facts out there

Where is my 10.4 branch with all the new features.....

When BlackBerry was updated to 10.2 to 10.2.1, the difference was huge, same with 10.3 to 10.3.1.

We will have to see what kind of update the 10.3.3 brings, but it does not change the fact that BlackBerry 10 is still being produced, and is still being supported.

The problem with that is most don't want android or they would have left for it already. I like bb10. And I will stay with it till the wheels fall off. The problem was they got bad reviews from ***** tech sights saying there are no apps. Which was not correct. Which scared most people who might have been willing to try it. The rest. was BlackBerry dropping the ball. When sale didn't match what they wanted the tuck tale and hide. They never released a high end devise. Like everyone was asking. They stopped producing all touch phones which 90% of the market wants. ( you can say oh they didn't have the money to waste) but they have released the leap passport classic. Why not release a high end all touch in limited quantities. But no. The only answer we get is market share is slipping they are not selling phones. But they have yet to produce a phone that would entice android or ios users away.
