    I'd say yes.

I don't get the sense that he left on bad terms with other board members or anything like that.

Doesn't seem like he has an axe to grind.. I imagine he uses a Q10.

I actually think he did a great job to be honest. Anyone else would have done the same basic thing slightly better or worse and perhaps in a different order. His script was locked to BB10.

Sounds like the Bigmac-building position at McDonald's ... well, except for the tens of millions of dollars.

What shame? He's made some mistakes but he got handed some bad cards in the first place.

He did a OK job, nothing earth shattering but nothing to go isolate himself in shame.

I've always believed that Thor was a terrible CEO. I was astonished how lauded he was here on CB and wondered if I was seeing the same public performances and pronouncements as they were!

He was hand-picked by MikeL to continue the BB tradition and clearly expected to follow Mike's previous path (without deviation) and bring BB10 to market. He was uninspiring, wooden, had dreadful "presence", and was poor at public performances...

Tho', for all that, I tend to agree that he played a bad hand about as well as anyone could be expected to do given he was boxed-in by BB10. I suspect that had he not shown that hand to be a busted flush (to continue the analogy), Chen wouldn't have been given the freedom that he now has to operate and be able to take the radical action to hopefully recover BB's fortunes.

As to phone... Thor must have a BB and BBM because I'm sure he shouted over his shoulder as he carried his sack of cash out of the door that he would be keeping in touch with those he left behind.

It's all a bit of fun. I don't think anyone takes the chest beating and chanting about phone companies very seriously. I personally like to go over the top just for the sake of drama. Or is that just me?

Heh-heh... you'll be asked to leave if you carry-on being reasonable like that.

This is CrackBerry remember... I've seen posts here that take the "chest beating and chanting about phone companies very seriously" to such a level of intensity that I'm glad the poster is on the interwebs... (hopefully) far, far away... and not in the same room, or between me and the door!

I do actually hope that Thor is enjoying his millions somewhere and has a nice life. He wasn't CEO material (see above), but I doubt he deserved the level of ill-will that was directed against him. He just played the hand he was dealt.

I'd say so. Like everyone has said, his hands were a little tied but it sounds like organisationally he made some pretty positive changes to the culture since BlackBerry which may be more of a lasting impact than any of the outward facing things he did.
