Sprint's BlackBerry Tour to sprout WiFi next year - FierceWireless

I can't believe this is true. Will we be allowed an upgrade or trade in? Something of the sort?

I don't get what the big deal about WiFi is. Personally, I've wished I had it once or twice in three years of CDMA BlackBerries. Maybe I'm lucky and just live in an area with great coverage.

I'm with you! I don't see what the big deal is. I don't believe that I've EVER been in an area where the WiFi coverage was better than my regular cell coverage.

Actually, after thinking about it; I don't think I'd want it that much. I have great speed and service in my area. So it wouldn't really benefit me "AT ALL". And if it takes a year to release the phone 7/2010 then by 7/2011 Blackberry would have made another phone with all the things I'll need with it. So, make another model. I'll be happy with mine and won't be moving out of my home city (NYC) anytime soon.

yeah but i'd take tight battery cover, better signal, no ripples on screens and no problems with headphone jacks first! baby steps...

Wifi speed on a handheld seems unnecessary unless you stream videos.

These are not glass screen, which means you'll get ripples. If it isn't a touch screen, why would you keep on touching it? I don't get these "my screen has ripples when I touch it" remarks. That goes for any non glass cover screens.

As to wifi, TBH, it sucks on the BB since it has the worse browser on any smartphone. When I had the Bold, the data didn't really go any faster so I can count on one hand the number of times I've used it. On phones like the iphone or pre, wifi actually makes a difference, but believe me, once you have wifi on a BB, you'll say to yourself, this is what I've been waiting for????

ooh rah to that. I've been VZW since the beginning and if you have a data plan, i've never had to worry about wifi since I can just go on the internet on my phone whenever I want.

And when was the last time I didn't have coverage with VZW in my area? Regardless of where I've vacationed to in CONUS (****, i had coverage in PR). When we go to AC, I'm always the guy who people ask to use my phone to make calls because they don't get a signal deep inside the bowels of the casino.

I love when people say they can surf internet in starbucks or mcdonald's and I say so can I. And then when we walk outside when we leave they say they can no longer get a wifi connection and I just tell them, i can still surf the internet.
