As per title, would you buy a BlackBerry variant of Samsung Galaxy Note 7? It will feature everything of the Note 7. The the latest hardware. It'll also include water resistance, the new Iris scanner, but under the name of BlackBerry.

If the Alcatel Idol 4 reference design on the DTEK50 strategy works, I can picture BlackBerry doing the same kind of deals with other brands for the reference design of higher-end devices.

    Might have potential.

Yeah I would. There's nothing too impressive about the DTEK50 in terms of looks. Features wise, it's alright. But one of the reasons I love BlackBerry phones is because of their design, which the DTEK50 falls short of. It's just another slab of and android device, and the security features aren't enough to make me forgive its mediocre outward appearance.

If they did a Galaxy Note 7 version, I'd buy it. And included more BlackBerry branding on the front.

I would definitely buy the Galaxy Note 7 as it is. A BlackBerry version of it with the S-Pen would be nice though

    Long Live BB10!

I don't think I can get behind any more high end phones. With so many decent mid range devices available (Moto G, etc) I can't see any use case that can justify a $800-$1000 phone. So no for me.

As long as Cobalt's BB services are available for other Android devices, I don't see a reason why I would. I can order the Note 7 and have it immediately.

Well, figuring out how to get it as a tax write off would be the only way to justify now that carrier subsidies are all but gone lol

I jest! <----------- you hear that, Uncle Sam?!!!

It wud b nice if BB licensed their security SOFTWARE modules, dtek app, AndroidBlend etc on high selling flagships of other brands say Samsung, LG & others.
That wud increase a 'secure Android' installation base & maybe even provide a green balance sheet for the erstwhile hardware but now software unit.
    Thats what i feel.

    I want 2 add -
Just like so many ppl here, i want them to bring a new bb10 phone as well. Its like a battle between the heart & d mind.
The mind knows that to b profitable bb needs Android support & the heart wants a crisp bb10 (never owned a bb10 but cousins who own it dont want anything else).
BB had a good 30 year run, and still may continue, who knows.
We never know if Android wud be able 2 do even 15 years !!
With the IoT comming in a big way, H5OS, Asteroid, Tizen, SFOS are all at the game of getting a large piece of the market.

I thought the only paid for report we saw on this said that Samsung's security on Android was better than Blackberry? Plus recent stories have indicated that making their own chips offers the same protection.

Nope. No way I am going to spend more than $250 US on a mobile phone unless it runs standard Windows 10 Professional 64 and can replace my laptop.

Nope. Misses a physical keyboard and it is definitely too large. Also, get lost with an iris scanner. Don't want that on my phone! Waste of money and space!

I'd buy that. Sheesh, x86-64 power in your hand. The real thing. No apps, no substitutes... :-)))))
