I wouldn't buy Blackberry Priv for 699 dol even If they would offer golden keyboard and lifetime guarantee. I've choose BB10 because it offers everything I need and want in complete OS. If I'd like other OS I would definitely go for IOS for the same price tag. Even Android market offers better devices like Sony Xperia or HTC not to mention price. Pricing Priv with 699 dol tag was the most outrageous and delusional market move Blackberry could do. The phone should be priced btw 399-499 dol tag with Thank You note saying "Thank You for staying with Us". I'm still surprised they've sold few devices already. I would pay 699 for BB10 but would never ever do it the same thing for Android phone.
Why people even bother with Priv?, when Iphone 6s offers even more for same price. Enterprise market wont care less either since Blackberry servers offer support for IOS and Android. Why they would buy Priv then?

No iphone offers anything as far as hardware even comparable to the priv.
All the hardware in the priv is more expensive.

Maybe you also complain about laptops that cost over $500 but you're fine with a macbook for $1500 lol.

So you'd buy a device with an OS that BlackBerry has essentially side lined for $699 no questions, but expect a thank you note and a discount for the Priv with up to date specs and an OS that should be good support wise for the foreseeable future? Logic is 10/10 on that one. Smh.

There are phones with similar hardware for less money that the PRIV, One Plus 2, and Motorola Moto X pur edition are examples of that.

For me right now the Moto X is the phone with best Price/Value relation.

I love PRIV but if de hace to choose, i will choose the Moto X.

Paid $730 with tax at AT&T today. Got 400 from my iPhone6s for trade and paid cash for the rest. The PRIV is great and for me worth it.

I just bought a moto x pure with 64 GB of storage for $500. No way I'd pay $200 more for a Priv.

BlackBerry over the past 3.5 years had trained their users to except cheap phone prices. It has become so bad that their ASP fell to $240. No company can survive in the HW business with an ASP that low.

As much as I like their products that's way too much to spend on a phone, let alone from a company that's might be out of the hardware business soon. I'd wait to see if they plan on staying in hardware and then get one when there's a substantial price drop.

This is just my opinion, and I'm kinda cheap when it comes to tech as it always price drops

From the reviews I have read, most people who r happy with the Priv did not seem to mind the price.

You got that right. I became a BlackBerry fan based upon the cheap pricing which drew me in from Android about 2.5 years ago. Bought about 10 of their phones, the most expensive of which was $250 CAD (less than 200). They all still work as good as new despite some repeated careless and caseless abuse with the only thing I would want is a better camera, even after snapchat was taken away.

So to suddenly pay $800 for a phone, any phone, seems excessive to me when I can't even wear out the ones I have. BlackBerry now has to counter even their own loyal customer expectations when it comes to pricing.

And yes I know that Chinese Lenovo/huwaie/alcatrel/oneplus/nexus blah blah blah insert any one of a thousand more Johnny come lately wannabe copycat companies do offer unbeatable spec to price ratios in the race to the bottom, but I personally will pay more more for something made in North America/Europe.

    Just my 3 cents.
