Would you buy a BB OS7 Phone Today?

People who buy phones for fashion are over flipphones
There are not many flip smartphones which caused much of the decline in the form factor
I can have a flip phone on the beach/boat closed with a rubber gasket around it (a 7mm elastic band works as well) and the entire device is protected from getting sand / water inside the device without the added bulk of a big case
Flip phones don't get scratched up screens thrown in a backpack, they don't pocket dial, and they can open on a curvature for better ear and mouth placement for actual talking.
I would buy a new style to replace my old one and move carriers costs me $5.25 more per month to keep my style than it would if I could move it to a GSM network like my 9900 is on, but it is worth $5.25 per month to have the style.12-24-11 08:58 AMLike 0 - Yes. i upgraded from 9000 to 9900 last month. just last week i bough a 9810 for my sister. I would still do the same today. The bold 9900 suits my needs, and that's it. Other platforms might have more apps but no point if i have no use for them.
same for BB10. Next year is still quite some time away, and the only BB10 i would consider is one with a form factor like the bold with physical keyboard, and that would probably take even longer.12-24-11 10:36 AMLike 0 - People who buy phones for fashion are over flipphones

The 9930 and os7 are fantastic. Sayin "SEE YA" to AT&T was even better.
...And yes, I plan to get a BB10 phone when it is released.
QNX Phone + QNX Playbook = JOY12-24-11 11:26 AMLike 0 - i just bought a 9810 so i say yes. its too long to wait for BB10 phones and OS7 is great. not to mention better data speeds make bridge much better. much better.
go used, i found my almost brand new 9810 for cheap and unlocked it for the big price f 0.99 canadian, lol. cant go wrong.12-24-11 11:31 AMLike 0 - Well - I jumped to the 9800 from my 8330 in March of this year, so I don't think I will be making another upgrade soon. But I got my son to switch from an Android phone to a Torch 9810, and a friend to upgrade an old Samsung flip phone to a 9380. They both love BB7 - my son says he should have gotten a BB instead of the Milestone when he upgraded before, but at least they are both in the fold now . I have played with both phones and I am really impressed with BB7. I guess I could have waited a little longer to upgrade myself, but them's the breaks. Must admit, I do like my 9800. I have a hybrid OS installed over the carrier's stock OS, and its performance is quite impressive!12-24-11 11:53 AMLike 0
- Have a 9900 and Playbook rockin' on OS2 and just freekin' love it. It's all working perfectly. I got into this gadget thing with a FREE Ipad2, then thought a wonder what that Playbook is like. Got a playbook and the wife stole it from me and put Mahjong on it and I haven't seen that one since, she has literally put weeks on it. I have installed OS2 on it for her and she loves it even more. Soooo I had to get another Playbook for me. I just sent the Ipad2 to my daughter because we sure aren't using it..........
Oh, yes got a 9900 in September knowing the QNX phones were not too far off at the time....zero regrets and I would do it again right now as well.
Merry Christmas to all.flash24 likes this.12-24-11 02:12 PMLike 1 - Yep.....I did 2 weeks ago when I got my 9850. Not a fan of apple and I've had android phones for the last 2 years. I've been wanting a playbook for a while now and I knew the torch would suit me better than a tiny keypad like the bold. I do, however, miss swype.....12-24-11 08:10 PMLike 0
- My upgrade is actually in a few weeks which is a good thing because I am stuck between the 9810 and 9860. I'm thinking 9810 because I already have the 9800 + some accessories (case). I can definitely use the 9800 as a back up (battery). It's convenient.
But, I think, maybe, I want something different.
Then again, I think, is 0.5" of screen worth losing the keyboard?
Then again, if the on screen keyboard is good, will I miss the physical keyboard?
Then again, maybe, I'm bored with Blackberry!!
So I did my research. If I jump ship, I'll go Android but I was never impressed. I was almost sold on WP7 until I read about the non-expandable yet 'sometimey' upgradeable/changeable memory - deal breaker. iPhone is just a heavy-handed NO!
But, if I jump ship, I'll lose BBM and it all starts over again. It's a vicious loop LOL.12-25-11 07:34 AMLike 0 - In a heartbeat off of craigslist, I wouldn't extend my contract for it though, they bb10 is going to be an expensive phone on contract so ill reap the benefits of it when it drops.
