I currently have the Verizon Storm 9530 and am eligible for an upgrade Dec. 2nd. I want to get the Bold 9650, but I can't decide if I should wait until the latest Bold hits Verizon with OS 6, or if I should just go ahead and get the 9650 and download the leaked OS 6.

Does anyone know when Verizon is coming out with a new Bold? And if it will be that much different than the 9650?

I can't stand the wait to get rid of my Storm, but I don't want to get the Bold 9650 and be locked into a new 2 year contract when Verizon will just release a Bold 97xx a month or two later.

    Thanks

I highly doubt a Bold 97xx will ever be released by Verizon.

The EOL for the Bold 9650 is scheduled for March 31, 2011 and the new OS 6 (.333) leak runs very smooth. So I say the bold is a good move

I read earlier today that the EOL is 3/31/2011, but does that officially mean that Verizon won't get an updated Bold until after that date?

It doesn't make it official no but I think you'll find it's a very very safe bet they wont be getting a new bold anytime soon.

No new Bold for vzw has been discussed. In Oct I went from the S2 to the Bold 9650 for OS6. I've never been happier. I never had any problems with the S2. But the Bold with OS 6 blows it away in my opinion. So going to it from a 9530 will be a nice treat for you.

I always do one year pricing. Honestly everyone should. Because being able to sell your phone one year sooner off sets the cost any way.

A used smart phone is worth a lot more at one year after its release than it is at two. Two year pricing seems cheaper at first. But its actually not such a good deal. You get stuck with the same phone for 2 years and by the time your contract is up your phone is worth $50. If the extra money is a problem I suggest you wait till you can afford it. You've had a Storm this long what's a couple more weeks.

    Good luck
