Most unlocked phones z10's offered on alternate websites are not truly set up for american gsm carriers offering 4g/Lte. I even called the BB website support 1-800 number, and they didn't have a convincing answer. Can anyone help me please?

Best suggestion is to call T-mobile and find out the version number of the Z10 that works on their network - such as 100-3 etc. I have an unlocked 100-3 and it worked on T-mobile when I was in Florida. Then check the website selling the Z10 to see the version number. If not published, ask the seller or move on. All I know is that the Z10's sold on shopblackberry.com are GSM compatible (so won't work on Sprint or Verizon).

You need the correct combination of z10 model and carrier sim card. Even more so in the case of Verizon. Only one model (STL100-4) works on their network.

For T-Mobile, you will need to get the STL100-3 (RFK121LW sub-variant is perhaps better than the RFF91LW.)
