Of course not, thats why Apple is going to offer the 3G version for that reason so users can get even more ripped off by the iPad

Well from what I am aware of, the only two methods you can tether through a Blackberry are through USB and Bluetooth, and since obviously the iPad does not have any inputs for USB (LAME) you'd have to go via Bluetooth. This may be able to be done through 3rd party applications such as "Tether" Tether BlackBerry | BlackBerry Modem | Tether

Get a CradlePoint PHS300, plug in your Bold, set the configurations correctly, join your iPad to the Hotspot and presto...3G from you Bold on your iPad. I have this exact combination at it works great.

There are cheaper Cradlepoints -- I've seen the CTR350 for around $80 new and under $60 refurbished.

You're stuck with the PHS300, then. $100 at Tiger Direct. Still cheaper overall than a 3G iPad.

does it work well? how can i use it, i connect my Bold 9000 to it through USB? BT ?

it may be more usefull than an IPAD 3G coz it can be used with more devices for sure

Of course there IS a simple solution. Just Google "MiFi" and Verizon Wireless.

    Youre stupid or ur joking?
its not about the IPAD dude, i want to tether my wifi to it but i would say a laptop, or a PS3, anything to get my BB 3G data through wifi

    its about tethering

and yes i have that old bold, in france, i also have a HTC desire which isnt rooted so i cant tether either

Whoa man that's harsh. The guy wants to know if there is a way to tether the iPad to a BB (and I assume Bold). I'm wondering the same thing.

Is there a way (using BT) to directly tether the iPad to a BB for internet access?

    I know I could use the Wifi-to-cell solutions - which I might.

Tethering is really no issue - Cradlepoint PHS300 works fine with BB and Verizon, and gives you more flexibility than just an iPad 3G, as noted above.

BUT without an app like Tether, Verizon will hit you with a tethering fee - so you can't avoid a separate data fee this way, which is my objective (plus saving enough on the iPad WiFi / 3G extra cost to pay for the Cradlepoint).

If anyone can get around a tethering fee for data, I woudl love to hear about it ...
