I occasionally surf the web with the BB browser using an open municipal WiFi hotspot without WEP encryption.
If I am right, the BB is not directly connected to the Internet when I surf. The web traffic is first routed through RIM's BIS proxy.
Can anyone let me know if such traffic is encrypted? Am I safe from malicious users who would like to intercept my data by using a WiFi packet sniffer?
