Wifi will work regardless of OS version and whether or not you have a data plan. See the guide below.

Yep, I have no data plan and am on the Wi-Fi right now. I have the 4.5 OS, but I used to browse the web with the 4.2 too the OS doesn't matter, so feel free to use which ever OS you desire

If the wireless network is secured, then you will be prompted to enter the security key associated with that network.
Remember, the passphrase for the security key is case-sensitive.

what code do i put in?>?

If the network is secure and you require the password for the network, you need to ask the admin of the network.

How old are you? You are asking questions that I wouldn't have the answers to. Whomever set up/owns the wifi network is the admin.

Ummm, Sunkast is right, my guess is that you are trying to piggyback on another network, most people use a secured network so that people like you can not piggyback on their network. You need to find an UNSECURED network. Hope that helps.

I do not give out my contact information.

Who's wifi network are you trying to connect to?
Is it a public wifi network?
Is it a wifi network you have set up?

Please answer all three questions. You never did answer me when I asked how old you are.

If that is the case you are SOL. If there is not an unsecured network that you can connect to then you will not be able to use wifi.

As crackvegas said, you are SOL. If the networks were public, they would be unsecured. You have no business attempting to connect to a secure network that you do not have permission to. Are you Amish or something? I don't understand how someone your age would have no clue about technology such as wifi.

You should read the links below. I hope you can understand them.

As long as the network you are trying to connect to is open/unsecured, you should be able to connect to it.
