Hi guy,

New problem. I have a BB-8900 and I can't seem to find the WiFi Preferred option . It should be in:

Manage Connections > Mobile Network Options...

But it is not there...!

Does anybody know what the problem is!? It can't be the service provider cause some friends of mine do have the option, with the same carrier..., and it can't be an OS problem cause I upgraded recently, and still no luck...

check this thread out.. it's a little involved but it's the only way to get the UMA working on a handset that does not have wifi preferred option...

but do you know/understand why i don't have the wifi preferred option...? i thought it was an OS issue, and it would be solved by an upgrade...

Not sure really, however I do know that the info in the link works as mine works on UMA.

i have 2 blackberry bold 9700 in singapore. one is a T-Mobile unit which has the wifi preferred option and the other is a local Singtel set which does not.

can't seem to browse on the wifi network at all even though it is connected to it. it keeps using the 3G, which is a lot slower.

does anyone know why yet?

My 8900 has never had such an option... Though I'm though AT&T and they don't support UMA.
