Wifi light wont turn on

hello everyone

well i'm out of town and i turned my service off while roaming
my friends do that too and everything works fine with them cause they use wifi for their bbm and what not

for me, when i scan for wifi, its shows that a network is found and connected to, but the tiny wifi button on the home screen of my bb won't light up and turn white..

what does that mean and how do i get it to work so i can use bbm?

Open Manage Connections, click Mobile Network Options, and change Data Services to "Off When Roaming" (that's the name of the option). If you simply change it to entirely "Off", it turns all BB data services off and you will never get the white icon.
