Bone head question....not so much concerned about excess data charges, but when I access the internet at home from my bb, (and can't get to the computer much because of a recent motorcycle accident) how do I know if I am using the fast wifi in the house or the ATT network? If wifi is connected, does it default to that or can I at least set it to do so?

I think Wi-Fi takes precedence over regular data. If you keep your home's Wi-Fi router enabled on your Wi-Fi list then it will automatically connect whenever you're in range of the router. You'll know that it is properly connected when you're Wi-Fi symbol on the homescreen is white and not greyed-out.
