    Hello
I support a Blackberry Classic for a client.

    1st issue:
It is not recognized by windows when trying to sync or install music.
I have tried everything possible from searching these forms and the Internet.
Ready to dump it. I should add that it did connect normally about 2 months.
I called Blackberry support and waisted 2 hrs on the phone.

    2nd issue:
I have transferred music..mp3..to directly to the storage cards but the phone will not find the media files.
The phone does recognize a new media insert. I plugged the card directly into my PC and transferred the mp3 files to the card folder named MUSIC.

I am very frustrated and would appreciate any guidance/feedback.

    Cheers
    Dave

Have you installed the latest version of Link? Which version of Windows are you using?

Is there a firewall application on the Windows PC that might be blocking access? :-)

Also make sure you have USB access enabled in the Settings menu. As far as I can tell, if the media card is encrypted, USB access doesn't work. But this doesn't seem to be the case, because you are reading it on a PC via card reader...

    1. Install BlackBerry Link.
    2. Reboot your pc.
    3. Connect the Classic to the pc via usb. Wait.
    4. If nothing happens open BBLink on your pc.
    5. A message should pop-up in the bottom right corner (near the clock) saying that the volumes are being initialized.
    6. You'll find 2 new 'volumes' that represent the internal memory of your classic and the sd.
    7. Simply copy and paste the music.
    8. Disconnect.
    9. Reboot your Classic (not really required).
    10. Check if the files you have pasted are in the sd/memory from the file manager.

P.s. I know it is possible to sync music with windows media player, but I personally never used that feature.

P.p.s. If you do have the wi-fi access enabled you can also interact OTA: you won't need to connect it physically through an usb cable.(Take a look at the pic below).

P.p.s. If you already have BlackBerry Link installed, maybe you gotta update it ;-)
