Geez, just the phone app in that screen shot is using more memory than my entire OnePlus One is. That can't be normal is it?

OP, does the phone app still use that much resources even after a reboot? Have you tried clearing the phone call log?

I don't get why the memory is used so much.

It's simply a memory leak bug in the Phone app. Hopefully it has been fixed in 10.3.2.

Okay, what about system? Why is so much memory being used?

Is there a way to clear that memory up?

"System" is the main part of the BlackBerry operating system. I think the amount of memory that it's using on your device is normal.

Don't get hung up on numbers. Sure, if your device is laggy or has other issues then look for a solution. But obsessing over diagnostics without really understanding what is behind them is just going to cause you annoyance.

And BTW, I see you have "Clean Master" installed. Those sorts of apps rarely have any useful effect since they don't have the system privileges required to do so, and are only likely to cause more problems. The OS is already optimised taking into consideration a range of complex factors. Often you are just trading off a speed improvement in one area for a reduction in another.

It's showing how much RAM your using. My system uses more than yours on my Passport and RAM usage changes depending on usage. IMO don't worry about. It. If you are worried, Reload the OS, or perform a Security Wipe.

Ram usage is dependent on what device you have and usage.

That you, JC? It's been a while since I saw your "BlackBerry Passport Sucks" video and then rushed to buy one, like, two months ago.

    Heh. Thanks, man.

I am having the same issue after resetting the phone in about 10 hours I'm down to only 325 MB free memory. It will go back to about 450 but now the phone is resetting as well. I am on 10.3.2.

Might need to wipe and setup again.

Okay seriously, WTH causes it? I can't have my phone liked that. Apps close by themselves. Please there must be something official as to why it happens and how to avoid it and / or fix it. Thank you.

I literally left my phone charging over night. In bedside mode. Checked Device Monitor and there was still only like 500 MB left. I did the volume rocker reset and this is what came up. WHY?!?!?!?!

Try to do a complete reinstall to 798 with autoloader but do not restore system. Reload only contact, remember, sms/mms data. You can do this with "ultimate backup for BlackBerry 10" from BlackBerry world.

Afterwards, try not install too many android apps. If so, do it only from amazon, avoid snap and/or cobalt Google store. Monitor progress for three days and see what's what.

    Good luck.
