People are generally going to like the idea of a bigger screen until they try to put it in their pocket or hold it comfortably in one hand. It will be a deal-breaker for some, especially when compared to smartphones that make more efficient use of the size of the device.

Well I'll take a wait and see approach on this. With 89 mm the Passport is very wide, yes, but at the same time it's significantly shorter vertically than anything else on the market (120 mm). The question is how great is the divergence between height and width of a device concerning pocketability and usability.

.....the Passport is a very "sexy" looking device, with the promise of high performance and prowess! This phone's target range, is for the business trend-setter, health/finance/education professionals with high agendas. The shape and form factor of the device accommodates briefcases and attach carriers and such, and most women carry their phones inside handbags/purses. The demand for the Passport IMO should increase a bit with average consumers because of the screen size and the intuitive keyboard. For example, lots of people would love to come back to using a physical keyboard because not everyone is adept to typing well on glass, the world has basically tolerated typing on glass because of the fact that most phones only support on-screen keyboards, (how would you like to type a paper on a laptop with a virtual keyboard instead of keys?/ no tactile input or sensation;finger shifting would be a problem). This phone offers screen size, touch screen and keyboard capabilities, which should appeal to power users such as gamers and streamers, larger screen form factor good for those with low vision issues and keyboard function for better speed/accuracy for sending messages. The issue about it being a two handed device should appeal to most law enforcement officials because it requires the use of two hands for texting, so this should reduce the risk of texting while driving, remember, speed texting is faster and more accurate with two thumbs, instead of one. Add these factors in along with a vamped up BB10 which now includes Amazon/Android apps along with the all new BlackBerry Assistant which adapts and learns your needs the same as the keyboard along with loooong battery life and this smells like a viable winner! It offers power, performance and security, bring on the right marketing strategy and price points, this could be a potential future trend shifting device! BlackBerry should consider including an on-board stylus into the mix with this phone. Perhaps a lot of average people will want this phone just to be different, stand out from the crowd and add RED as a color option, of course!

Being square is innovation ? Am I missing something here...
No, being square is hip, innovation is the keyboard.
