I'm in Canada on rogers and it worked for me.

Try signing out your bbworld account and back in.
I am in canada and its not free. There is angry bird seasons showing as the first day gift but when i tried its going to charge me 99 cents plus tax. Not sure what is this all about?
Worked for me as well. Do you have the most current version of BlackBerry World 5.xxx?
They also mentioned that it'd be free only for 24 hours. I downloaded angry birds yesterday and when I now look at it again in BBW, it's chargeable

Are you sure? I had to enter in my BBID password like it was requesting payment, but I never got charged for it. Not sure if that is what is throwing you off.
Hmm ... I just went and checked BBW and I see what you are saying. It is showing as $0.99 now. I'm wondering if they haven't adjusted for the time zone yet.
i just downloaded and cheged 99 cents plus tax. i am going to see if my visa card is charged or not .
UPDATE: Yes I got charged. just received the statement. this is not fair, i hope blackberry should reverse my charges.
You would think 1 day is 24 hours, not 20, I got it free thru Telus in Ontario Canada a couple of hours ago
Q10 running10.2.1.1055 leak and loving it!
I downloaded it this morning for free. Is it possible they restricted the number of downloads?

I connected to BB World via my BlackBerry ID on Rogers and it worked just as expected. It shows faintly $0.99 but it showed "Free" bolder than that. It worked perfectly for the 5 people I know that tried it in Vancouver. (A variety of Z10, Q10 devices and my new Z30)
Me, too. What gives?
If it tries charging you, try refreshing BlackBerry World

Yes, that is how it was for me too this morning. But looking at it right now, I see it listed as $0.99 It appears that this is the case for a number of people.
Maybe it's only free for Canadians.
Just download next time in the morning and you won't have to worry about restricted downloads

Maybe they are using a single time zone as a trigger for the 24-hour discount (like GMT)? In Europe we are well underway on the second free app: Shark Dash.
BlackBerry 10 signed.
But he won't be able to get Angry Birds. It will be the next download that will be free (which appears to be Shark Dash, as per Mr.Glenn)
Worked for me just fine in SW Ontario.
No, I downloaded that in India yesterday

On Rogers in Waterloo and it worked fine for both our Z10's this morning. Do you have any BBW (the actual app) updates to install?

Ok ... seems there is some confusion. For those of you who have already downloaded the free app, can you go into BBW again and just see if it is still listed as FREE? I already downloaded it this morning too, but if I go into the "Free app a day for Christmas", I do see that Angry Birds is listed as $0.99 and no longer free.
Lol thanks for the heads up :)
