For example at mobilicity if you want internet service with a blackberry you need to apy $5 extra a month. Why is that? It's not that like other phone companies dont have to deal with providing internet service so what makes blackberry special to charge customers extra $5 for internet service?

They will tell you that the reason is the safety, criptography and bla bla bla.
But the truth is that this service is like Apple products, overpriced and mediocre.

Pretty much. When I was on a BIS plan 1 GB was sufficient for my use. Now I'm on a regular plan and I need 4 GB. With the difference in price from 1 GB to 4 GB, I'd gladly pay 5$ again

Don't worry. Soon you won't have an option to complain about BIS costing more, once it isn't offered anymore.

Hmmm.. then you're paying for the added security of using BIS servers for email ..

Nope. BB10 devices go on the same plan as everyone else.

They use a lot more data, which won't be a problem if you already have unlimited.

I pay 20 for BIS on my 9900 would gladly pay 5.
Also as mentioned data compression, on my Q I'm already at 1.1 gigs and I got it on the 14th of June. I would never reach 1gig on the 9900 in a months time.

point is. with BIS, u don't need data plan.
BIS is already a data plan.
on my BBOS days, i pay RM25/month for a 250mb/month. that is more than sufficient for normal twitter/fb/bbm/online.
and i don't need unlimited data.
but once u go BB10, it's data plan (no need BIS) and 1gb is not enough to cover the normal usage.
    that's RM68/month.

    *USD1 = RM3.

You think that's bad? BES users have to pay an extra $15 a month. Now that I left BB, I still get my work email instantly, and it and my calendar are all synced without problem. The only difference to me is that I'm no longer using a BB to do it with. Oh, yeah, and I get to keep $180 a year.

The only downside is that when I was a BES customer, I was on a 19-month AT&T upgrade cycle. Now I'm back to two years. Oh, well.
