The versatility. Phone, mp3, storage, calendar, bb's are awesome this is my second one, but they all have disadvantages like no mms sprint service, or walkie talkie with no mp3. cant have it all i guess.

I bought my wife one a year ago, my 14 year old has one and I have one as well. My entire family is on crack and it get the jobs done.
    LMAOO!!

Thanks for that...needed a good laugh today

As for why I have a blackberry... my contract was up on my LG chocolate flip and I walked into the Telus store with all intentions of getting the LG Daze . Had to wait a bit for service and it gave me the chance to check out the other phones . Call it divine intervention or whatever you will...but I spotted the Blackberries . And when my turn for service arrived I asked about the blackberries . The guy that helped me out has the Curve and he said if I made the switch from a " dumb phone " ( his words ) to a blackberry I would never look back . I liked the Pearl for it`s compact size and he fired one up and showed me a bit of what it could do . To me , it was like staring at a black and white t.v . ( dumb phone ) for years and then getting a look at a high def LCD tv .( blackberry ) . So I walked out of the store with the Pearl 8130 .

The honeymoon is still on as I`ve only had it for 2 weeks and I`m just amazed at the capabilities of what it can do . I`m learning new stuff everyday and these forums have helped me out huge in figuring things out .

The days of dumb phones are over for me . From here it`ll just be upgrading to newer blackberries as the need arises

Same as Yankez here. It was divine intervention. Every phone I ever had was sweet for about 10 minutes and then another would come out that put it to shame. I wanted one that I would love after the honeymoon period. And then a pearl fell in my lap and I was sold. And then a curve. And next who knows. But it will definitely be a berry.

I've always been a tech junkie, but until a year ago I resisted the idea of having "portable e-mail." Then I got smart and realized it's a necessity. I travel constantly -- either housesitting or working onsite, or visiting family. I have a laptop, but if I can retrieve an email while on the road, and respond to it .. or better yet, wipe it from my server altogether (so I don't have to mess with it at home), why not?

First and foremost, its a gadget. I need to be able to check work emails, go online, keep appointments, compose and edit documents, read the paper, play a game while waiting on a line, etc. I need either a PDA and phone or a smartphone - might as well be a BB.

My last phone broke after a month and a half of use and was refused repair. My brother had a BB for a while and he loved his so I figured I would give one a try. That is when the 8220 caught my eye. It is perfect for me. I love the design and the fact that I can do anything anywhere. I will never own anything but a BB again. Completely addicted.

SO many reasons why I bought the Storm.
    1) I'm a geek and I love gadgets
    2) I need a reason to surf at work from my phone
    3) I need a reason to check personal e-mail at work from my phone
    4) I wanted the closest thing to a "convergence" device with phone, media, camera, video
    5) Touch screen was a must, and I am not a fan of the virtual keyboard on the iPhone
    6) Like the iPhone, hate the keyboard, no battery replacement, and no external memory.
    7) The screen is just down right gorgeous.
    8) To click or not to click, is that really the question?

It's easy to choose a BB when you work for a cell phone company and get to use them on a daily basis. It's even better when they pay for it.

Need to cover up when i am on the Golf course and not working - having my emails - my outlook contacts - phone fowarded to my cell are all key at keeping the illusion going.

For me, it's a necessity. I have three email accounts that I need on the go access to. I frequently access the web for information/data. Of course, having the phone is a great plus. And the calendar/notes/reminders and alarm features are used every day. Plus a few gaming apps I threw in there for any down time (which is rare). I am either at work or here. (or sleeping )

It had become a necessary part of what I do, where I do it, and how/when. Extremely convenient.

Well, I had reasons for wanting to switch over. I previously had a RAZR. First of all, that thing froze ALL of the time. Second, I needed on-the-go access to my e-mail, especially now that the company I work for has firewalled all of the commercial e-mail systems (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.). I also got it for IM reasons, then for the full keyboard. It's just convienent.
