Today they decided to create an article on them blogging up how bad the at last developer appreciation music video was in their opiniong. What was their reasoning for doing this other than to get page hits and spread negativity about BlackBerry. Yeah it might have been a bit tacky but it was done for fun and what makes the editors over at the Verge have the right to the judge acting like they are better than everyone(RANT). I for one start to lose respect for the Verge when I read these kind of articles and its sad because it used to be my favorite tech site. Here is the link: BlackBerry's new music video is just as bad as its last one | The Verge

Let me know what you guys think

Who is responsible for marketing? That French bloke from orange? Double castration. Can't believe he allows this. This is insulting for a corporate video, not to mention that this is available to general public. Horrid ****e

This isn't for marketing. Why are people taking these videos so freakin serious.... People are ignorant sometimes. Do some research. Not everything you read in a blog is true. Especially on BBRY hate sites.

Who cares? It has BlackBerry fonts all over it, and has people who work for the company, doing what can only be described as the most embarrassing thing ever.

Is it in public domain? Is it branded? Was it made with company money? = marketing.

This isn't Thor rapping, this is the developers relations team mucking about.

The developers response to the last video was overwhelmingly positive so they made a second one.

I wish my corporation was that fun.

Main objective of marketing is to raise awareness of the brand and if u want to classify it as that even though the average consumer will not see it the video has stilled raised awareness since people found the need to blog it.

There's such thing as bad publicity. Never believed if myself, until I've seen keep on loving you masterpiece. Marketing at BlackBerry should be all over this, trying to do damage control.
As this is destroying the brand image.
They can have this on private channel if they want to mock about. But this is public. And embarrassing.

The stupid music video is so trivial that it really shows that the Verge has no integrity at all if in fact it claims to be a news site. The site is what it is, pornography for people that have an Apple fetish.

I don't plan on watching the video, with that being said you can't blame the verge or anyone for judging a video that was released to the public.

I don't know why anyone picked up this story.

The video was originally released back in February at Jam Europe.

No one is blaming the verge for not liking the video. People are pointing out that the Verge is making very poor conclusions based on the release of the video. Saying that releasing the video is a desperate attempt to stay relevant is a complete non-sequitor and an obvious attempt to smear.

The Dev's absolutely love the video series. These people need to find some real news stories to write about.

In any event, band's done, and so won't see these articles again.

Way I see it, if the Verge is spewing hate at blackberry on account of a hokey fan video then I'm more then happy.
They are grasping for straws and they're looking more like TMZ for reporting it something that has nothing to do with the tech.

Speaking of which, I got junk mail from Future Shop saying they now carry Burt's Bee's products. Seriously wtf is up with that?!? lol!!!

As much as I use and defend BlackBerry these videos are a waste of space IMO. I guess its a chuckle for corporate to do this but I'm not a corporate person and I'm embarrassed that they do these things.

Let's face it. If google or apple or windows did the same thing they would catch the same ration of crap that this video is taking.

Yes I know its a jokingly fashioned video but it makes them look like a joke to me and I'm sure to others as well.

Of course they would, and I always wonder...does the OP, and others apparently espousing the same beliefs, truly struggle with this??

1.Yes, why would this site "hate" BB? Is it even possible they do not?
2.Is it even possible that everyone who says anything negative about BB and/or their future is not doing so because they "hate" BB?
3.Is there any other possible motivation besides: "spread hate" (or stock shorting)?

Apparently, for many, there are no alternatives....and so they genuinely struggle with the idea that all these people must "hate" BB. I suppose when one's reasoning process is almost entirely driven by underlying emotions, then it is difficult to imagine that it may not be so for all others.

Heins was on the Verge not long ago, somebody should clue him in about the "hatred".

PS. Here's a clue: BB knew they would get this reaction, and did it anyways. Obviously. They did it not long ago and now they repeated it. IF you don't like the reaction it gets, then maybe you should criticize BB for doing it again, when it is completely unnecessary, and not criticize others for not ignoring it.
