Picture this : take a storm screen, take away the click but keep the touch, turn it in landscape and put a wide spaced out keyboard underneath without a trackpad.

Your design essentially makes me do that, because I don't think I'd be able to reach the screen with my thumbs in the "home position".

All you would need is to reach either the left of right bottom corners to be able to scroll.
You could even have separate number keys at the top
Ok, I'm just dreaming now but seriously, I'd like to see a phone like this built.
Regarding the droid, I thought that will have a slide out keyboard???
