just wondering who is using 2 phones like one for personal and one for business use
I'm using two phones, my primary and iPhone 3Gs my work phone a Blackberry 9700 which is about to be replaced with another iphone but right now its a berry, and i like it.
yea i have the same thing, i'm debating if i should stick with one phone or jus keep both of them
I've got two, both berries. Its a hassle having to care for two at times, but I can't use the personal one for work stuff, and can't use the work one for personal stuff, so that's what I'm stuck with. My favorite is the personal one, the storm, because it's not BES and I can load whatever I want on it, configure it anyway I like. The 8830 about the only customization I am allowed is icon arrangement.
Sometimes I try to click on the non-touchscreen one's screen, or reach for the trackball on the storm. They also have different size headphone jacks, and different USB ports, so that's two phones, two headsets, two chargers, two USB cables.
between the two of them, I am in a constant state of thinking there's a red LED blinking at me.
i was using two phones, one for work and one for personal. Until the work cell phone was not being used as much, sold my number on ebay and kept my personal number. carryin two phones isnt fun. At one point i had three phones. sidekick prepaid. work, and personal..pants were sagging.not fun at all.

snarfler - why don't you ask your company to switch your bb for you so you can use the same chargers and headsets for your BB
debating if i should switch my personal line over to a business plan even tho it is cheaper then my current one...or should i jus use both my iphone and bb 9700

If you're going to be on BES then maybe, because the BES admin can access whatever goes over the network. If not, and you're just using BIS for your work and personal emails then you can easily live with one BB, if it has all the features you want.
so would you guys think its smart to switch over my number from my personal line to a business plan?
Two phones here...one work/quasi personal...the other personal. If only blackberry would come out with a two line phone. I don't think I could love blackberry anymore then I already do but if anything will change that it would be two lines in one phone.
Lol, I have an 8300 I use for work and a 9700 I use for everything else - including personal business.

BB Tour 9630 on VZW for personal use, and Motorola i576 for work...
it's not all that bad, I just like to complain ;) It helps to have the work stuff on the work phone, that way I can ignore it when I want to still be reachable by the non-work folks. Also I can use the personal one for tasks of questionable morality without worrying about some IT security person monitoring
They only support blackberry as a mobile email client, for the security reasons we all know about. They only support the one BB. Its a crippled up BB, like an obamafone, no camera, no GPS, no SD, no bluetooth. But it's a BB, so it still has merit and is worth having
oic, i was planning on getting a bb only data plan since i already have a bb 9700 and i jus found out i can pick up a cheap rate plan so i can use it for work/personal too. thats why i'm thinking if i should keep my personal as personal or should i jus say screw it save some $ and switch my # over or not if i do i would need to get rid of my iphone which i find useless now since i hardly listen to music or watch video's
My personal phone is a tour, for work i get a nextel motorola, good thing is i only have to carry the work phone when im on duty or on call. So the weekends and socially i only have to carry one.
BB and a cheap Nokia.
