Jon Rubenstein is the first person that comes to my head. he did great things for Apple and was responsible for webOS and Pre.
He does seem like a good candidate. With palm he had little resources and did his best and webos never had a chance so it is very possible if hired on a project getting his full attention and Thorsten obviously wants to throw money into everything BB10 so good choice.
Im personally excited about our new leader, he is straight forward and whoever he hires will be the best
They should just hire me and I will lead them to the Promised Land.
Thorsten admitting that the company is not disciplined enough and looking for feedback from crackberry.com is already a monumental change from the old guard. Thorsten deserves a chance to do his job.
I still maintain that Rubenstein should be CTO. He should outsource advertisement to the agency that makes ads for Lexus or Mercedes Benz.
As for CMO...
Get the guy from MetroPCS.
RIM should hire someone with consumer marketing passion, or should they hire a marketing firm - does it have to be in-house
An external marketing firm can be more objective. From the outside they see your product for what it is, not for the amount of sweat poured into it
simple. an industrial designer with real skill. the current BlackBerry phones might be my personal choice but they are way behind Apple in their design
just my opinion but it would seam a lot of people agree.
I agree with hiring an outside agency to do the marketing, a fresh look into the world of Blackberry would show off the features we all love. Flash is great but when i saw it in a commercial for Blackberry i just shook my head because So What??? Android has flash too and thats the exact angle they took. I want a commercial that clearly explains Bridge and its powers, showing it with the new features coming in Playbook 2.0 could be effective. Also show off the uncompromised web experience, dont just say it because people have no idea what youre talking about other then flash!!! The consumer is looking for clearly defining features, dont be Android "Oh hey we have flash yepeeee" Dont be Apple "Are camera is better then a DSLR and Siri will make you crap your pants with excitement!!!" Be Blackberry and Be Bold!!!!
