So. My friend dropped a fairly heavy book on her Pearl, and the Pearl now displays a white screen. We tried a battery pull, only to turn the Pearl back on to the same white blank screen. She said the she plugged it into her computer, and got nothin'. Nada.

Do all of you wonderful BlackBerry fans have any suggestions?

I don't think thats an option. She got it a while back, and its past the 30 days.

It is an option because all BBs have a one year warranty from RIM.

Does the warranty cover that little 'accident' of dropping the book? Or is it just a "manufacturers defaults" warranty

they don't have to know that she dropped a book on it you can read the warranty under the legal section on BlackBerry

eeep, poor pearl!

my friend's daughter had a similar accident.. her pearl was at the bottom of her backpack & she put ALL her books on top of it.

If there's no visible damage to the phone I'm sure you can certainly return it for warranty repairs.

Yeah at least a book doesn't leave any nasty gouges! The corners of my. bb are pocked with scrapes and scratches.
