I have been a loyal Blackberry owner since my first 8830 World Phone from Verizon. I than bought the Storm (hated it) and now own the Tour (adequate).
I will probably switch to a Droid because where is the innovation that I was so used to with RIMM? While Android and iOS are progressing so rapidly not only the hardware, but even the software from RIMM is outdated.
OS6 looks good but not great. A lot of the features have been available for the iphone for YEARS and Android is developing them in months not years.
Do you think all this is the end of RIMM as we know it or do you really think our buddies up in Canada have something cooking that we dont know about? I dont want a BB next phone (no adequate apps, bad browsing experience) but I by no means want them to stop trying. Where does RIMM go from here? Do they attach themselves to business people and pray iphone and Android doesnt take them out? Help me out with remaking me into a believer.
Its not that I don't want one. Its just that I am struggling to find a reason to keep one. BBM is great and email is too (Android and iPhone have good clients not great) but beyond those two advantages why would anyone keep a BB? Keyboard used to be an advantage but with touchscreen enhancements, typing on a screen is easier than ever.
My benefits of using a BlackBerry different from yours' and everyone else. What ever works for you great....
But honestly weighing opinions of what works better and feeling towards a phone from everyone but the person who is using it makes no sense and you will never get a solid answer...
I can give you pro's and con's about all kinds of phones, but yet another user will disagree and make another statement on their pro's and con's
a Blackberry is a Blackberry and an Iphone is an Iphone..,.its up to you to find out what YOU like in the phone, you shouldn't base your ideas on what others like or dislike as everyone is different.
I just am wondering what the competitive advantages are anymore? 2 Years ago BB was ahead of the game, now they are behind in both software and hardware.
What is preventing everyone from switching away from them other than brand loyalty?
If you're failing to see why people keep their bb's than you need more help than you think. For me, I'm not interested in touch screen (crap) and I'm not into the "wow" factor. I like my phone b/c its a phone more than tons of apps and a pertty screen.
If I was a billionaire, I'd be paying for people jump their contracts early so we weren't subjected to all these crappy whining "how come my Curve 8310 isn't like a new Droid? RIM(M) needs to step it up. People are leaving, the stock price is dropping." threads.
The BB is simple and does what it is designed to do..i had an Iphone and i had a 100 apps that i used once maybe twice then the cool factor wore off and after that they were all space takers...before long i was using the same apps i use on my BB everyday...and as for the touch screen? one more thing to screw up on it as far as i am concerned.
