I don't think that the BlackBerry map app needs the android runtime.
It works beautifully for me. In Canada, in Australia, in New Zealand, in US, in Europe. No problem.

The Maps app can't be uninstalled as per se, it's part of the OS / SW app set... :-)

I have a passports and a z30 on 10.3.2.2876 and they work very well. They have travelled around the world in the last 8 months: Japan, Indonesia, New Zealand, Australia, Canada. No problems with BlackBerry maps, except in Japan where BlackBerry doesn't really exist and where I used Bemaps Pro instead.

I was referring to Android runtime support, 2876 can't uninstall Android apps properly. They have a fix for Android runtime to solve this problem but didn't release it. Accessible through App world links but not through search... most likely it was not fully tested and can't be released.
