Are you using it? One of the reasons I nuked whatsapp is the instructions to opt out of facebook sharing didn't work on BlackBerry. The settings simply didn't exist. Is this still the case?

Over here in Germany about 98% of all smartphone users communicate via WhatsApp.

I�m tired of whatsapp forcing me to update, just uses data (maybe thats the point?) and adds no benefits. This time it also has glitches and has slowed my phone down. I�m looking for an alternative that doesn�t force you to update and is gaining popularity so I won�t be isolated, and stuck with whatsapp because I need to stay part of my groups.

For me personally it's not because I like the messenger that much or so.
I don't trust WhatsApp even if it had 12 layers of 256Bit AES end-to-end encryption.

The things is:
When there is something that popular as WhatsApp (over here), it's set as standard for communication besides e-mail.
When you meet new people, it's not "what's your number?" it turned into: "what's your WhatsApp?".
I know it's ridiculous.
But people over here mainly use:
E-mail (more for the business side) and WhatsApp for everything else.
They'd rather send you a SMS before trying an another messenger!
And before sending a SMS they don't think it's that important to send you a message - unless someone dies or so.

Even companies or Universities see that as standard besides e-mail.


So it's a big deal having WhatsApp!
It's sad, but that's how Germany rolls.

It has it's limitations, even with the patch....
