9810 and Asus Eee M101MT (Win7 netbook tablet PC). It gets me real keyboard on both and tablet mode when I want it on the Asus. And whether I'm on power or not, it's charging my phone.
I'll cast my vote for the 16 GB Book and a rooted Nexus S 4g. I've considered switching to a BB phone but I'm afraid that the stark difference in web browsing and app availability will make me regret it.
Ipad is pretty useless. Don't get my wrong, it's really not because it is iOS or because it is apple, it's actually a great device.
But after a couple of weeks where I was completely exited that I had an Ipad, I started to realize that having a tablet is just nothing for me. I can't really give it a place in my daily life. If I am on the way, I rather use my Blackberry, if I am at home I rather just use my laptop. And there aren't really places between them...
I would love to have a Playbook (because, fanboy and stuff...) but I already know that it probably would be collecting dust in stead of being useful.
I love my Torch for the most part, but hate the virtual keyboard (which works fine sometimes, other times I can't type a word without hitting the wrong key or it not registering a press or registering one twice).
OS 7.1 with the mobile hotspot is awesome though - that just seems to work better than bluetooth tethering.
you could probably recoup a lot if you sell your ipad, and put it toward a playbook, youll have more use for it i think because sometimes your reason to use it will be, for a example doing bbm on a larger screen, or using the native email off your phone.
Current combination is a Galaxy S (Mesmerize) and Viewsonic gTablet. I pretty much do everything on the gTablet, while the SGS has pretty much been relegated to being primarily a phone. If I was still using a BB as my daily driver, I would probably be carrying a Playbook as well.
Ideally, if I there was a Playbook or other 7" tablet with its own phone capabilities (just carrying one device), I'd use that. The idea of the larger screen and one single device interests me.
I was issued a Torch 9810 at work last fall and I'm quite please with it.
Bought myself a 16gb Playbook at Boxing day and to be honest I'm impressed with its performance and bridge integration which makes my life alot easier on the commute to answer on the fly to an email while watching a movie not needing to pull out my 9810 from its holster.
I also own an iPhone 4 and an iPad2 which really makes it best of both world
