I love mine. I live in a no and never will be 3g area and use UMA a lot, it's been a great device.
I put a zagg screen cover and a very thin case on it and it's proved to be a tough reliable phone.
Update the software, i use the newest tmo release with good success.
Ive never had a trackball issue either, but i keep my hands clean and clean the ball occasionally.

I mainly use my phone for email, calls, some texting/bbm and simple apps like bloomberg news, weather, gmaps, banking and pandora.
I browse the web occasionally, generally just news.
Battery life is amazing, UMA has worked great, keyboard and form factor are good for me also.

8900 has been my favorite device ever, ill upgrade at some point, but with no 3g and UMA my major requirement, i haven't found a need.

Probably a tie between the 9000 & 8900 in terms of BEST BLACKBERRY EVAR!

I really liked it, and the next time i find one im buying it.

The price is fair, but i've bought a couple of these at 75$ shipped LOL [in great shape too]

One of the best BlackBerries if you can stand the lack of 3G. 8900 was back when RIM made quality products... Throw 3G on a 8900 with a slightly better processor and it's just like a 9780.

8900 was the last of the good Curves. Other than the trackball issues, which are always going to happen with a trackball, it was a solid device.

I didn't really have a trackball issue for some reason. But hands down the 8900 is the best curve by far =).
