    I'm being told that the reason that I can't access apps like Google Maps and WeatherBug, Where.com etc. that ask for either current zip code or try to access my GPS is blocked by the fact that I'm on the BES (Business Enterprise Server).

    Is this true? If so, how do I fix? If I need to go through someone at my company's Help(less) Desk, what should I tell them?

    Any help would be sincerely appreciated!

    If you're running on BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) and your company is blocking GPS, then there's very little you can do yourself to your phone.

    You can try asking your IT department to change your policy to enable you to do what you want. You'll also want to check if the company policy forbids installation of apps like Google Maps and Weatherbug, and if so, they'll need to update that as well.

    Of course, since you're on BES, it's completely up to your company's discretion. If you don't like it, get your own personal BB and go with BIS instead.
