For me it means it has connected to a public wifi network, but you will have to go through the authentication. Like when you connect at a school or starbucks, you will have to open your browser and log in through the website (I have to do this every time I go to a Buffalo Wild Wings and connect to their wifi)

Click on your wifi setup and you will be prompted to login or simply accept their terms of service to use their network.

R u sure that's the correct info? I've used dozens of public networks, indeed u need to go thru a log in page, but never have I seen anything like a red indicator, and OP, where exactly do u see it? On hpmepage?
