My 8330 was a solid Berry. Used it for a long time. Now I have an 8530 (Curve 2) and it seems just as good if not better. I have messed with nearly all models (from people at work) and I'm pretty impressed with the 8530.

I am currently using an 8900, getting a 9700 on an upgrade in a couple of weeks, at the moment my favourite is 9700 as I've heard lots of great things about it and it's so nice to use (parents and friend owns one). The worse Blackberry has got to be the Curve 8520 - I think it should have been named BudgetBerry instead (that's what I call it) as the screen resolution is absolute BS and it was clearly made for people would wouldn't usually be able to afford a blackberry - the low end of the market. Personally the 8520 is the WORST blackberry ever made.

I love it. I had an 8330 and it was extreme crap. The scroll ball is useless. I didn't buy my 8520 because of cost, I bought it because of it's features. One thing is certain, I will NEVER own a touch screen.

    To each his own.
I havent had problem #1 with my scroll ball. My current is an 8330 and it is also my vote for my favorite. I have played with an 8530 and when I do upgrade it may very slide into the spot for favorite. I also have a Storm, and I agree with you, never again. Not the Storm, Droid, iPhone.........nothing touch screen. Ive also played with a Tour and to me its just too big. The Curve seems to be the perfect size for carrying and typing comfort. The Pearl is in the same catagory with touch screens as far as my considerations go. The perfect phone would be the Curve with the guts of the Tour.

    Bold 9000.
Currently using a 9700 but if they update the Bold with more app memory and a trackpad whilst keeping the size and gorgeous sound system I'll be all over it

I like the Bold 9000, it just looks sick.
I'm running a Tour 9630, just slightly smaller than the 9000, more app memory...

Definately storm 2...I wasn't sure if I'd really like the touch after loving my 8330 for so long but I've been proven wrong. The surepress screen is awesome...if it were just a regular touch I don't think I would like it so much. Also, the large screen would make it hard to revert back.

That isn't true... I love this blackberry 8520 its about the same price in the uk really only 10 cheaper than other curve so really not bad, plus the screen is really good for me plus i could of got a different blackberry but the keyboard was the best on the 8520 for me so that is the reason why i got it not because its cheap because its not cheap on pay as you go thou

CURRENT - none. Switched to Pre after severe dissatisfaction with RIM and their development, as in lack thereof.

FAVORITE - Curve 8330. My trackball is perfect on it, it survived 7 trips down the back stairs before the antenna finally croaked.

I didn't mind my Storm at all. I loved my Pearl. Pearl gets a bum wrap.

@FobBerry I think you're very ignorant. The curve 8520 is a real bb. There is no such thing as a fake one anyways. In fact, this berry carries some features of higher-end models. And what is this nonsense about being a cheap phone for people who cannot afford a real
l bb? I could afford any blackberry I want. I purchased my curve for 400. That's more than any bb on a plan. If I really wanted a bold or a tour, I would get one.

I'm not being ignorant, just simply stating my opinon. I was aiming the 'cheap' statement at the Orange UK ones as you wouldn't be able to afford any other Blackberry on PAYG from brand new unless you bought it on eBay or somewhere similar. Personally to me it feels cheap and I wouldn't pay that much for that screen resolution.

Anyone know if it's worth getting the 8530? It's not GSM, it's CDMA, that's the only problem. Will still work as well as the 8520 (The GSM version)? Will network speeds be as good?

The Tour is my current model. I'm torn between my favorites. I have always loved the 8330, but as I go along with my Tour, I'm starting to think that it is my favorite. I didn't choose the 9700 because I prefer the trackball and I have a sour taste in my mouth from AT&T. I think that the 9700 would have been better on Sprint, if that makes any sense. But to be honest, there really hasn't been a BlackBerry smartphone that I haven't liked.

I currently own the 8520. It may be my first bb ever but I love it. I don't like touch screens and I had heard bad things about the track ball so I went with the track pad and not regreting it at all!I don't believe that the 8520 is for people who can't afford a real bb, like the guy up a few posts so ignorantly stated. It has and does what I need it to do perfectly.

Sorry if I have offended anybody that certainly wasn't my intention, just merely wanted to state my opinion. I think I am just too spoilt by the quality of my Curve 8900 (and with my Bold 9700 when it comes, no doubt) and personally don't think I could live with a Curve 8520 after having the screen resolution and what-not of a Curve 8900. My apologies again.
