Nothing. BlackBerry isn't selling enough keyboard phones to make a dent in anything.

The Z10 keyboardless phone out sold the Q10 3 to 1.

    This could go either way...

On one hand, those BlackBerry users who are holding onto their BlackBerry devices because of the speed and accuracy gained by using a QWERTY keyboard device would have a pretty compelling reason to jump ship and move to the iPhone K (K for keyboard.). That could essentially end a significant value proposition that BlackBerry has over nearly all other devices. Of course, the iPhone K would have to have a halfway decent keyboard to really be a contender, but Apple seems to put out some friggin quality products.

On the other hand, the entire market has essentially decided (with their check books) that keyboard devices are a thing of the past. Consumers voted in droves for full touch screen devices over the years. I think this has the potential to really make Apple look like there's not an ounce of innovation left in them. Consumers might actually reject a new Apple product offered for the first time in many, many years. They could quickly fall out of favor and be put in the same category as BlackBerry (old person devices). They'd be perceived as copying a company that is not even desired by consumers anymore (at least in the US).

I'd be curious to know how successful everyone else thinks a full keyboard iPhone would be...I'm torn. Definitely a potential threat to BlackBerry....

This...it's not like BlackBerry phones are selling well enough for there to be an impact.

I think people would buy an iphone with a keyboard. Many people won't go back to BlackBerry only for a keyboard. BlackBerry not selling a lot of q10s is not an indicator of whether people would buy BlackBerry. No one is buying BlackBerry. A lot of people miss the keyboard and would buy an iphone keyboard because it would likely be wonderfully made with all the advantages of the Apple ecosystem.

I damn hope the design and feel of the BlackBerry keyboard is protected/patented.

There are brand which produces keyboards in the past but the typing experience ain't there. Not as refined as the bb.

There r other factors about the iPhone that will keep some people away from it. ITunes, non removable battery, battery life, no USB port, no HDMI, lack of security, non expandable memory, screen that easily cracks etc. Then again Apple sells earbud headphones for $75 and people still buy it.

The iPhone keyboard is simply laughable. Other than being the ugliest thing on earth, the ergonomic design is brutal. But hey, I'm Sure it will appeal to the same people that buy the iPhone for its security features. I guess that is why they could only get a B-rated celebrity to endorse this piece of junk.

I'm surprised that the Seacrest keyboard is not infringing upon the Q10 keyboard, as it is VERY similar.

If Apple launches device with keyboard, we can only sit and know that they are not good enough for now, because they afraid of losing their market

The better question is: "Why would Apple release an iPhone with a keyboard?"

Many on Crackberry treat it as a coveted market and it may be the best feature for you; but even Blackberry cannot sustain itself off of this feature. Remember, there was a time when the iOS app ecosystem was even smaller than Blackberry's. If consumers cared about keyboards, they would have never left Blackberry to begin with and there would be no "app gap".

Apple has ignored so many consumer demands over the years. The biggest one I think is for an iPhone with a reasonable sized (at least 5") display. You'd think that even if Apple had finally caved in to consumer pressure that it would deal with these major features before moving on to physical keyboards.

I don't think Apple will do it, just because a keyboard would just get in the way of their established screen size requirements for iOS, and a slider phone would look too much like a Droid, something I'm pretty sure Apple would not like to emulate.

For Apple to launch such a device, they would have to be a big enough market for it from which they could recoup their development cost and make a decent profit. I just don't see them doing this anytime soon, as the market for it is not big enough.
