It's so sad!! All those demo videos are from 3-4 years ago and they look spectacular!! Gimmick or not, it's new, it's different, and it shows a level of innovation that BlackBerry so desperately needs!! But none of this other than the home screen page wake up gesture is used in BlackBerry 10 on my Q10. All I can say is, Could you F***ing imagine what iOS7 would look like if Apple bought TAT instead of BlackBerry?? What a waste!! Please Somebody, do something to get this type of UI onto BlackBerry 10!!

BB even can't release Scrapbook for BB 10 which is the only demo developed by TAT and released as complete app for PlayBook. What a mess...

TAT is an awesome set of talented people. I feel like they should add more of their wow factor in BlackBerry 10 through exclusive apps and features. I love everything they do!

So you think the rocking chair was a big step up from 3-4 years ago when they were designing the videos I posted. Technology expotenially grows every year. Smartphones is a good example of that.
Almost every smartphone has a altimeter and motion detection. iPhone 5 just got a motion-process chip which is geared towards fitness apps but essentially they could do the same thing.
For me I just can't picture what the rocking chair demo helping out developers or in a real life situation. Call me narrow minded but enlighten me.

It wasn't revolutionary, it wasn't cool....and it wasn't' even funny. To be honest, that's the kind of thing I'd expect to come out of some very bright and industrious high-schoolers to win the science fair.

To add to all of this. Even if TAT Launches parralax on bb10 it's too late to affect anything. iOS 7 now has the same function and if bb10 gets it in 6 months people will say they are just copying the iPhone. No winning on that front.

It's because of all the CEOs / management of BlackBerry are dinosaurs. They need to bring in someone new with fresh ideas. Thor can do the enterprise **** and the new guys could just get a say in what creative ideas tat makes like cinnamon toast, parallax, live wallpapers, customization etc. BB10.2 is a good base but they need to expand greatly.

They really need to stop being so closed off and hindering themselves from consumer thought. They need to go to some silicon valley restaurant or coffee shop and pick up a kid with fresh thinking and forward ideas. Get a group of kids together and call it berries brainstorming or something.

I heard TAT has been working on 10.3 for some time now creating the "killer applications" like the concepts we saw at CES a couple years back(enterprise confetti app) and also changing aspects of the UI, as well as working on the new version of cascades to be released with QNX 11 and also they might be working on the UI of the next version of QNX Car.

I hope you heard correctly. Would love for that to be the case.

TAT still has a great and innovative team,but not properly utilized by blackberry at all

To be fair, I think TAT's design team was good. As part of BlackBerry, though, TAT were asked to do things they had never actually done before. You also have the issue that a few key members of the team left as soon as they could basically.

So BlackBerry bought a kernel team and a front end design team and expected to get a great OS out of that mix. That's a bit like buying a cake pan and some icing, sticking them in the oven and wondering why a black forest cake didn't pop out.
