I did a search for this but couldn't find any threads for it. (Not sure if this is the right forum for this; feel free to move to correct one of it's not.)

I'm finally setting up my auto-text so I don't have to type out full words and am having difficulty coming up with shortcuts now that I have some of the most obvious ones done.

What are some of your auto-text shortcuts?

I've created so many I wouldn't even attempt to post them all. Whenever I come across a word that I misspell or that's difficult to type, I immediately create an Auto Text for that word. Others I've created are:

h# = my home telephone number
c# = my cell telephone number
w# = my work telephone number
f# = my fax telephone number
myadd = my home address

uh, i guess this makes sense if you're typing out medical terms or anything complicated. i don't know if any one else's shortcut words will help you remember them, I've found it just as easy to type everything out, the only auto text additions I've made are just to add some contractions and capitalizations.... so in conclusion, why?

A good number of the autotexts that I added are symbols and the remainder are for the tags when posting different things on wap.

I understand what you are saying and I suppose I worded the OP incorrectly. I'm mainly adding auto-text for contractions and words I use often. I was just interested in seeing what others use.

I have them set up for colors and image tags as well. I'm always forgetting to use them and can't edit on wap so it's a pain when I mess up.

I've actually used words to enter entire sentences that I use frequently.

Imdrive = I'm driving. Ill call you back as soon as I can.
Wuttime = What time is the meeting at?
Wutu = what you up to?
Gnite = good night and ill talk to you tomorrow. (for family)
Gimme = Give me a call when you get a chance.
Witcli = I'm with a client. Ill call you when I'm done.

GFOA = Government Finance Officers Association
FASB = Financial Accounting Standards Board
GASB = Governmental Accounting Standard Board
FC = Finance Commitee
PerCom = Personnel Committee
MO = Office of the Mayor
COS = Mayor's Chief of Staff
DPW = Department of Public Works
SoSer = Social Services
LU = Land Use Department
InTech = Information Technology
DHS = Department of Homeland Security
CTDOL = Connecticut Department of Labor
and so on.......
