Ok. I have 2 things:

1. my used 88820 came today and that is my main phone, but I want to use my curve too without a sim card. Besides media, what should I use my curve for?

2. I got my 8820 used, so how do I remove scratches from the screen WITHOUT taking the screen off/replacing it?

You can use it without a sim. I can only make emergancy calls though. I guess what I mean to ask is if there are any non-data apps that I can get. Thanks.

1. Do you mean SD card and not SIM? I think without the sim all you can do is place emergency calls to 911.

A SIM card is used only when you are overseas and you need to connect thru a GSM or other CDMA network. It serves no other purpose. My 8830 has a SIM in it only in those circumstances. Here in the states I have access to all of the whistles and bells without a SIM. It is used only for global roaming. It has nothing to do with an SD card. Re: pg. 33 of the 8830 manual published by Blackberry. I hope you find this information useful.

At&t is different. You can only make 911 calls without it.

Yes, sorry I should have mentioned Im on ATT and without the sim the phone is only for 911 emergency calls. Sorry bout that
