So I finally get my Curve 8310 this week... bought it off a fellow Crackberry'r!

and, i must know 2 things....

1) any "must haves" for the blackberry? (downloads/updates)

2) I've seen some people with the menu theme looking like the iphone... how is this done?

I'm so illiterate when it comes to Blackberrys and files/downloads... I'd appreciate it

I love The Hockey News launcher myself.
And I use the CNN mobile launcher from time to time.
Opera Mini is a great alternative to the regular explorer too.

Definitely upgrade to 4.5 as soon as you feel comfortable. Check out Viigo, maybe Opera, some games, and some other useful apps. On the hardware side, get a micro SDHC memory card as soon as you can, because all the music, photos, themes, and other things will QUICKLY deplete your free file memory (which is where all apps are stored). If your free file memory gets too low, your BB will start to wig out. So move all nonesential stuff to a memory card.
