What type(s) of BB does your company issue if they issue BB at all.

My Company issues exclusively Sprint 8830's and used 8703's. They will however let you bring your own bb to the bes, but you will lose mms as its the only feature our bes locks out.

We used to also have Att/Cingular before the 8830 released for our global travelers, but now its not needed and were exclusively under Sprint now.

Mine gave me an 8700, but will upgrade me to a curve if I lose it now. We can get it activated thru T-Mobile or AT&T.

My company currently issues the 8310 on the Vodafone network. They are only issued to Area Managers and above, the rest of us are issued with basic Nokia phones sadly.

we just recently changed from Nextel 7100i blackberries to Verizon and 8330's. I work in the technology dept of a public school district. Administrators and select support personnel are issued BB's others get a regular cell. We have less than 40 BB's in use.

We used to have 8700's but now all of them were upgraded to 8310's from Rogers. We did have the choice of the Bold but would have to pay out of the pocket for it.

Our company uses Telus as our carrier. We were using Motorola iDEN phones up until a few months ago. Now all production staff carry Motorola W385s, Department and Project Managers have either 8130s or 8703es, and the owners of the company have 8330s.

managers and up have the choice of regular cell phone or blackberry. Before they were issued Rogers 8700s, now they get 8310s from Rogers. I would be interested to know if my CEO use a Curve or the Bold...

We were thinking of bringing curves to replace all of the 8703's, but people love their 8703's so we'll keep em.

We will probably bring on the Curve around the first of the year.

    Just curious...

What are all of your professions that you're issued BB's? I'd like to have a job that will give me a free BB!

    I'm still a college student

we use AT&T, pretty much the only requirement. We have 8830's, 8310's, treo's and one guy has an 8125.
I am a production supervisor and they have decided to give us each a blackberry. I told them I wanted the Bold and the only question that was asked is 'is it through AT&T?' so I am hoping i get my bold through work.

    I'm a Reporting Analyst.

My company has 10 bes servers, with over 300 company issued bb's on the network, with another 120 personal bb's live.

My company issues bb's to almost everyone even the mailroom super has a bb.

    Admins
    Analyst
    Directors
    Sr Managers
    Executives

All have bb's issued. Amins, Analyst and Mail Room Supers can't use their bb for phone, only SMS and Data, unless their Personal bb's, then you can do what ever, except mms.

Technician for a school district. And I do feel lucky for getting a BB issued to me. I would never have one otherwise. On top of that I'm happy to be working for a district that can both afford and acknowledge the tools their employees need to be efficient and get the job done.

Any position that may require constant contact could be issued a BB. I have family member that has a BB, she loves it and all, but she is constantly doing work on it.

I would consider it a mixed blessing to get one through work. At least when I am on my BB, it is for personal things.

I think my work issues out the Curves though.

The company has several hundred BB's all on the Verizon Network (I'm thankful for that!). Several years ago they gave us the 7130's. I didn't like the "non QWERTY keyboard" even though they (VZW) tried to claim that it was a QWERTY deyboard. Last year they upgraded us to the 8703e which was a superb device with few problems and it always worked. a few months ago they so called "upgraded" us to the 8830WE which was a tragic mistake! The conversion to my new device didn't go very well at all. The operating system seems to be sluggish (I get the hourglass alot). The keys are to close together and dificult to see (whoever thought of silver on silver for these little keys). Over all in my Bb career the 8703e is a much better all around device for the type of user that I am. If you have an 8703e DON'T TRADE IT!

Oops ... I realize that you didn't ask for a critque but I just got on a soap box here.

    Profession?
I am a program manager and to be effective within my team I need 27/7 contact and believe me they use it. I get calls and emails at all hours but it is value added. I don't look at having the BB as a benifit but rather a necessity in the business that I am in. I'm strictly a business user and I don't need the bells and whistles just a device that works everytim I touch it.

P,S. Stay in college and don't give up you will eventually get ther!

    My two cents ...

Until the past month our standard corporate Blackberry was an 8800 on Telstra... now it's the Bold!

As a Systems Administrator I am one of the lucky few in our IT Department to have a Blackberry, most BBs in our company are issued to General Managers, Managing Directors and above.

And yes you did miss some... 8110/8120, 8310, 8320, and 8820.
