What if they had god at the launch event?
I think it's advertisement enough if he's just seen out and about using a BB device. The Time magazine thing was very clever, have seen that pic all over the internet. Here in the UK, we have had two series of Homeland shown, and they all use BB devices on there, also good product placement. It certainly piqued my interest in BlackBerry. :)
Now that would be good!!lol
Also I want to ask him where exactly Adam and Eve came from? That has been bugging me for ages lol
Oh, God, no....PLEASE. I think he's got more important things to attend to. Not to mention associating one of the most controversial presidents with a make or break product is horrible business sense.
More than that.....where did Cain, Abel, and Enoch's wives come from?
Well exactly!! :) I've often wondered that as well.
It would be like a press event for God, where we could ask him loads of questions like at press events haha!
This is why this tread should have ended with that first post by qbnkelt.
Politics and religion are awful topics to touch in any place because at its core the discussion is on beliefs and beliefs have a bad habit of being "Everything I believe is right, therefore anything that YOU believe which is against I believe is wrong and/or bad/evil" kind of thing.
This is an idea, wrapped in nightmare and bow tied with a perverted fantasy...
This non thought out thread really should end asap. Too many people here for everyone to agree on politics.
The Republicans would toss their BlackBerry smartphones into the trash can on their way to the nearest Apple Store. The OP's suggestion would lead to news stories on Fox News claiming, "BlackBerry smartphones are used by Democrats and terrorists. Research In Motion supports Al Qaeda." OP: Think of the children using BBM before making such suggestions. ;)
The best response in this thread.
Terrible... just because you don't believe or agree with someone else's views, religion, politics doesn't mean you cant engage in thought full discussion. Thats what happens when you use one brand too long, you become too close minded.
This thread should stay and we should endorse all of the discussions within it.

Thanks for the laugh. Most ridiculus title in a long time. Been a while since i was tempted to do an actual ROFLcopter. that being said it would be good to get a bb10 device in his hands asap.
Apple's a predominantly liberal device. Windows would be the next product.
What about the leader of Canada. Stephen Harper. If they use Obama I would have to buy an Android
Everybody loves Canada!
Nope, having Obama at the BB10 launch event will first of all put all the focus on Obama and take it away from RIM and BB10. Secondly, as others have mentioned it will generate more negative than positive press for RIM.
Canadians love Obama!!

Exactly. I truly can't remember a Televised BlackBerry ad in the U.S. When I travel in Europe, I see a few ads on billboards and magazines, but even some of these are disappearing. "The Monocle", a British based world information magazine that you can get at Barnes and Noble here in the U.S. used to be full of BlackBerry ads. No longer. They started disappearing about 18 months ago. :(
I have two cents like everyone else but talking about smartphones is not near as volatile a subject as politics. Excluding the specifics of the point, take this one for example:
--
We have seen alot of doom & gloom news surrounding RIM from all these different tech news sites for a while now. To some people, Barack Obama and the socialist ideals he so strongly believes in (which is stuff that has been tried and either failed or damaged every other country it's been tried in in the past) represents damage if not an attack to the things that made America great, which were the Constitution and it's Bill Of Rights, things like free market for example. What would be gained for RIM to people from that side of the fence, what positive impact would it have on them, if they were to have Barack Obama as part of their endorsement and push for BB10? For those people who see Barack Obama as bad for the growth of the country, wouldn't it seem almost comical to promote that same person as a building block or some symbol of the growth of RIM?
--
Do you see here? I'm not directly attacking anybody, only speaking a broad viewpoint shared by fellow "conservatives." THIS is what i'm talking about; brining in a political leader introduces politics into this "thoughtful discussion", and a volatile subject at that. While i've not directly went after an individual poster's person, I expressed a very generalized opinion as to why I feel such a pursuit by RIM would not be the best way to reach out to EVERYBODY in a fully positive manner, and of course someone somewhere on this thread is going to quote my opinion, quote my view of how some of us could perceive using Barack Obama as a even a small point in the promotion of BB10, and attempt to degrade "ME" personally because I said something that opposes their view should they be supporters of the man, which is the whole reason I prefer to see insults to individual posters avoided entirely by not getting into discussion on volatile subjects; volatile because it can so easily become personal quickly. That was all I was trying to say.
I love Canada, but NOT Harper.
Yes agreed.
If that were to happen, I would check the cb forums to read all the teabaggers *chuckles* hissy fits regarding his endorsement. It wouldn't have an effect on my purchase, since I buy products based on what they can do, and not who uses them.

Yeah I mean everyone buys what they like, depending on their needs, simple as that. Hopefully nothing to do with politics or anything like that.
Quite honestly, I think you might be surprised to find that many people absolutely refuse to use certain products based on others endorsements. It's sad, very sad indeed, but it does happen. Me? I'm going BB10 regardless of who may or may not endorse it.
That is perfectly said, and that sad circumstance of the theoretical power of endorsements is why hype/press exist; there are some people who base their entire view of a product on who uses it, like some idea of "marketing." This is one of my favorite things about the CB forums, most of the users here like myself love our platform enough to remain a customer despite what "tech news", hype, or other mediums have to say about anything :)
