Not sure how many have noticed this, but in India, all BlackBerry phones sell with 1.5 years of warranty. But the Z3 is selling with 1 year warranty. BlackBerry was the sole company offering 1.5 years of warranty and that really spoke about the confidence they had on their quality. Bluntly that tells me the Z3 isn't on par with other BlackBerry phones in terms of quality.

I doubt that the warranty change has anything to do with Foxconn.

Would be "neat" if BlackBerry would do something different with their warranty. Why not a five year warranty, with plenty of fine print to excluded damage caused by the user and the battery. Add a G-force sensor that would registers any major drops and an official charger sensor, and what really should go wrong other than if someone gave it a bath?

5 year guarantee is too much for a phone. Maybe a 2-year phone guarantee is the sweet spot

Well here in India right from BBOS days, it's always been 18 months warranty. Z3 is the first phone which is only 12 months.
